With the word that the Sonics have been sold to a business relationship out of Oklahoma City, there may be a space for a nice indoor team at Key Arena

With the selling price at $350 million, that is a pretty good profit in 6 years, when you purchase the team for $200 million + approximately $60 mil in operating losses reportedly.

The people that bought the team have no intention of moving the team or selling it. The sonics will be around for a while longer.

Heard SEVERAL people say that they are Sonic fans and are now going to boycott Starbucks! Just gives me one more reason to NOT go there!

If the sonics do not get a new arena or a renovation of the Key Areana we will probably never have a pro bball team again. They have twelve months to do this or they will be the Oklahoma City Supersonics

I grew up in the Seattle area and have always loved my Sonics, but it will be hard to get emotionally involved (go to or watch on tv) if it is a lame duck year and they are moving no matter what I do. I get real frustrated with professional sports in this town. Have we had way more than our share of politics, sports teams, arenas, upheaval than other towns in the land?

I will still be watching. I know some of the sports radio shows are telling people they should boycott the sonics but really how is that going to help the new owners decide to keep them here. Just boycott Starbucks. If the attendance is too low this year the owners will have an excuse to move them just following this season.

dont' boycott starbucks. their stock value went up immediately following the sale of the sonics lol.

just support the team and the efforts for a place to play, that's way more productive in keeping them here than milling over woulda shoulda couldas that are history

Actually sad to say another NBA team will not move in if the Sonics vacate.The commish David Stern does not like us. It would be better for a college team like Seattle U to move back to Division 1 and take over the arena. Mix in an NHL team some indoor soccer and maybe rollerderby and bingo its full :mrgreen: mm not quite but hey its a thought!

Frankly college basketball is more entertaining to watch than a bunch of pro players who for the most part do not play a full game of effort and intensity!!!

Haven't watched NBA since they went on strike in '99. GREEDY &%#*HEADS!!! The most entertaining sport is 6 year olds playing ANYTHING....
