Have I been living under a rock not to know about this???  Can anyone shed any more light on this rumor for me?  I have heard that they are playing in ESA uniforms down in the Beaverton Cup...

I heard this is in the works and a offical statement will be released by the clubs involved when this is complete.  You might be misinformed on the uniforms.  Lots of things still need to occur such as apporval of the clubs BOD.  This has NOT occured as of today.

I had also heard that not only u-11 but also u13 Force becoming part of ESA. Sounds like whole Marysville Force program in trouble yikes

I wouldn't say that they are in trouble and for your info there is more then one club involved besides Marysville.  I'm sure within the next month if not sooner a press release will unvail the strategy behind this talk.

One thing for sure if the rumors are true and there is a merger ESA will become one of the strongest clubs in Washington and that is the truth

Sounds like you've got the "inside" scoop! I should'nt have said "Entire" club. It's just too bad to see ANY teams fold/move at all. It disrupts alot of kids/ parents schedules.(Logistics)

The other club is likely Lake Stevens Eclipse.

Would that give them an A, B and C team?  Would some of the kids be told they are no longer on a team if only an A and B were allowed?

I know that District 1 has major issues with having more then 2 teams per club at an age group.

I think district I is easing up on their restrictions.  They recently took off their restrictions on under age players.

i know at U11 they could not have more then 3 players playing up.  That changes at U12 to unlimited players playing up.

They also only allow 12 district games where everyone else gets 14

They would get around it just like crossfire.  Premier, select, and development as just a few whys around the system.

 Heard from good source(don't ask) that it's a done deal, finished, over just the official announcement and that stuff. It will be Lake Stevens Eclipse and Marysville Force will combine with ESA.

End result,  a PDL team/club that will surely attract some quality additional players, coaches etc. Take that to the bank.

Just curious about uniforms......does ESA fork up the uniforms or do Marysville and Eclipse have to pay another $200 for uniforms, etc.

Or is this something that won't happen until next year?

WPFC Black 95ers played the Marysville Force 95ers today, and Marysville were wearing their same uniforms.

sorry for the double post--but the quality of soccer will go down in my opinion.  Too much concentration of teams at such a young age

Maybe, Right now I think U11 has over 100 teams and I know that U12 is close to that number.

There was no parent consultation, and it came as quite a SHOCK to everyone this weekend.       But the team was forced to do something quickly; it was a combination of the new PDL and strict District 1 rules.   District 1 refused to let this talented group of girls play up at U-12 this fall, and the PDL took all the good District 1 teams out of their pool.   Thus, they would need to play teams that they could easily beat.   No competition.    They had to make this move.    Rumor has it that the rest of the club will follow in the Spring, along with Lake Stevens Eclipse.   Thats all I know for now.

Force U11's to merge with ESA?
« Reply #26 on: July 23, 2006, 01:05:10 AM »

Can someone give a clear explanation of what is happening?  is this a true "merge" like United and Royals to form one club?  Or is this one team going to another club to play? I can't tell from the thread.

What are the advantages/disadvantages to this?  At my older kids ages, neither Marysville nor ESA has had any type of competitive team (exception is the U-16s girls for ESA), so I don't know much about either club.  Thanks--I hope this is a move that benefits the players and gives more people a place to play.

But U-11 is way to early to tell which kid is going to turn out to be a player.  And if you form exclusive teams of kids who are good at 11, and basically tell all the rest to go jump in a large, standing body of water, you are going to risk missing out on countless possible gems.
