OH NO ! What timing, isn't it just inevitable ?

2 days before Oregon qualifiers and the #2 striker on your already short rostered team goes down for a couple weeks. Aint life grand ? You feel so bad for the kid in pain. You feel so bad because the kid really wants to play. But you can't, as much as you want to, let them play fearing long term damage. Too late to add a guest player, just suck it up and roll with it. Aint it wonderful ?

We lost our center mid two years in a row at LPT's with surgery to her knee.  The other kids really have to step up, but it is a huge effort and the wrong time of year for an injury.  Good luck with all.

thanks, yes the loss of a key player is tough. But seeing a kid in pain is just so hard. As parents we always want to make it better, sometimes we can't, and that's frustrating, I'd rather see her healthy and not playing if I had a choice.

I bet that you will do even better than you may think.  Who knows through it all you may even find "more" key players... Funny what pressure can do to you  :)  Or for you  ;)

Mom - I like your "my glass is half full" attitude.  I feel your pain Soupy and hope your player recovers in time for next week.

I hate to see kids cry, it's so heartbreaking. Thanks for the encouragement. I just hope she gets better soon, so she won't hurt. Soccer is secondary. Having parents who are athletes, and having raised a family of athletes, being an athlete and being married to an athlete, I know injuries are a fact of life. Still, kids are so innocent, they will give 100% not considering the possibility that they'll get hurt.

Good luck this and next weekend!

Nosoup- there is more to life then qualifiers. Your team is U-13 correct? Where are their games being played?

the armpit of the world, Hillsboro High

I'm really not stressed about qualifiers, it's unfortunate timing, but, it is what it is. We'll do however we do, it's just tougher without one of our key players. And everyone hates to say; "we could have placed higher had we had all our players". Or; "the refs took us out of the game". You know, they usual excuses people make. So we'll play, have fun, and enjoy the experience.
