*****DRAGON'S SUMMER REPORT- Top Teams Girls U12!!*****
« on: August 06, 2006, 09:44:28 PM »

Well Here ya go CP's......

DRAGON'S SUMMER REPORT!!!!!!

Only have time to do the "top teams" (according to Blue Chips rankings) right now, will try and find time to add more if possible.

Several CP's PM'd D and said they missed his long winded Blah Blah Blah on teams, so here you go  ;)

PATRIOTS FC BLUE!!!

http://www.patriotssoccer.net/

So far this year this team is about right were people at the end of last year thought they would be...Near the Top!!  Not a lot of insider information but Dragon does know they added some players (sweeper) and 3 others from last years U12 Challenge Cup Championship team. So far this year this they have played in 4 touranments with an "above average" showing in each one.  Here is a Recap of how they have done so far:

Starfire Spring Classic

(semifinalists)
The Pat's went 4-0 on their way to the semi-finals to face off with the Timbers Red team.  They had very Solid wins against Badgers and Alliance and beat tough teams too in Crossfire Amy and Dosveedanya Red!  The battle against the Timbers was one of the best battles of the year so far in all 94 soccer and was clearly a slugfest and shootout.  They came up short but Dragon would love to see a rematch of these two teams!

Rainier Challenge

(semifinalists)
Another great showing for the Pats girls!  Had solid wins against several tough teams.  Came in to the Semi's undefeated against a very strong Ireland (Or.) team and just feel short.  Great tournament though for them and another solid showing.

Portland Cup

(participants)
This was the teams lowest time of the summer season so far.  Played great soccer but came up short against Crossfire Porter and Portland FC Marine.  Did get a win over Westsound in a rematch of the RC game.

Diadora Cup

(finalist)
The Pats gals sure rebounded after a tough Portland Cup and came out to show what they were made of.   Played very very good defensive games against EFC & NWN Red and came away with 2 ties.  Came up against the "up and coming" Emerald City Green girls in the semi's and handle them without difficulty.  Lost a tough one to Crossfire Porter in the finals.  Overall though, maybe their very best performance to date this year.

Next tournament on their list is; Sno-Ho Bigfoot tournament.

Gains:
Like D said before, hard to get info on this team, looks like added four very solid player at (sweeper, mid/forward, defender) and have moved others around to increase their offensive power.

Loses
Only know of one lose at this time, lost a winger to Crush after the Portland Cup.

Summary

Dragon would give this team a great shot at getting at least to the Semi's of the state cup.  Should play U13 in the fall since they are not a member of the PDL.  Believe this team can give any one a run for their money when they are firing on all cylinders.  Watch out for the Patriots, they are For Reel!!!

CROSSFIRE PREMIER PORTER!!!

http://www.crossfiresoccer.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=2&tabid=128&img='g94a'

Well as we all know this team is the Defending State Champs and they came out swinging Just like we thought they would.  They have set out to prove that the State Crown last year was not a fluke and have racked up some hardware proving it to us!  Dragon also have limited information as far as changes but can see they have about 3 new girls this year.  They have played in 6 tournaments this year and here is their recap;

Starfire Spring Classic

(champs)
This team came out right off the bat and was ready to roll.  They went undefeated in bracket play starting off with a great win over the Crush 2-1.  In the Semi's they had a rematch with the State runners up EFC and came out with a close but hard fought victory.  The finals Pitted them against a very tough Timbers team that they had not played since state cup bracket play.  It was another tough battle but the Porter gals walked away with the 2-1 victory!

Sno-Ho Invitational

(champs)
A weaker tournament, but one they could not let their guard down in.  Beating several scrapy teams on their way to the finals against their "down south" rivals WPFC.  Another hard fought game with the Porter gals once again coming out on top in a 1-0 victory!

Viking Cup

(participants)
Playing up a year in the U13 bracket they came out strong against some tough U13 teams but lost in bracket play to the Crush. (their only loss to another Wa. team this year in tournament play), they also gave it their all against a very Big and Talented Dosveedanya Red U13 team losing 5-0 (the most goals given up in tournaments by this team).  Still a strong showing, every team has an "off" tournament and this one was it for the Porter gals.

Portland Cup

(champs)
Back to their winning ways in this one.  Facing a defeating several scrappy teams on their way to the finals.  Facing off against a much improved Reign Purple team, they showed how great they can play again, coming away with the crown in a 5-2 win!

Diadora Cup

(champs)
Again these girls came out on fire and beat every team in their path.  Getting to the semi's with ease they faced what was their toughest test in the "battling Hawaiian" team.  Going down to PK's after a "2 OT War" and coming away with the win surely looked like they would be too drained to show up for the finals against the Pat's.  But once again the Porter Gals turned on the "juice" and came away with a solid 3-0 win!

San Diego Surf Cup

(participants)
Did not get out of bracket but was still one of their best tournaments.  Playing the "best of the best" they came away 0-2-1 and learned some valuable lessons on what it takes to be the very best!

Next up on their list is; Chinook Cup.

Gains

Far as Dragon know they only added 3 players this year.  2 from the Amy team of last year and one from EFC (a former Crossfire Player who scored the lone goal against them in the state cup finals).

Loses

Dragon may be wrong on this but do not believe they lost any players.

Summary

So far winning 4 or 6 tournaments this year they have proved them selves again the "team to beat".  Upon watching them they continue to play a very agressive (go to the ball) type of game that suits them very well.  Should at this point be on everyones list as a favorite to return as far as the finals of this years state cup if not just outright win it all again!!

WASHINGTON PREMIER FC BLACK!!!

http://www.hometeamsonline.com/visit/?u=WASHINGTONPREMIERFCG94BLACK&sport=soccer&t=c

So far this year the RR gals started off shaky but seem to be improving all the time!  Had a great PDL spring season playing close games with all the other top teams.  Having a lot of changes in the roster at the beginning of the year and a new coach got them off to a slow start, but now they have seemed to gel and are growing accustomed to the "new" team.  Here is their tournament record so far this year:

Sno-Ho Invitational

(fianlists)
Played some very tough teams in their first tournament of the year and made it to the finals beating a very good Emerald City team.  Facing off against Crossfire in the finals they made it a battle but fell 1-0 to the reigning state champs.  Still a great first tournament for the gals in black.

Rainier Challenge

(participants)
This is the tournament everyone expected them to win after getting so close last year.  After a first game shocking loss to Yakima the coach decided to change things around.  It has since shown great improvement in the team but was too late to change the outcome of the RC for these gals.  They might have not played their best games in this tournament, but they came away with an increased desire to win!

Beaverton Adidas Cup

(finalists)
Playing in temp's that rivaled hades the gals in black (hopefully wearing their whites) played some of the most gruelling games they have ever played.  Several injuries and the heat took there toll on the gals in the finals.  Emerald City who is much improved got the better of them in this one, but it was still a great tournament where the gals got to see that they have what it takes to play in any conditions!

Next on their list of tournaments; Mustand Stampede

Gains

They have picked up around 5 new players, with 3 of them being from their own club.  One goalie and field player who played up last year on their U13 team and 2 from their U11 white team of last year.  They have also added a player from Velocity and one from "Reign"?

Loses
They lost LCC at the beginning of the year before tryouts to Crush and two went to other teams, one to Norpoint and the other to Harbor White.

Summary

This is definately a team that is going to sneek up on some people, the new coach has seen the "week spots" on the team and has fixed them now with some rotation of players that will surely pan out as the year goes on.  This team is another favorite to get to the Semi's again of the State Cup and Dragon would not be suprised to see them even get a little further then that!!

SOUTH SOUND SELECT FC CRUSH!!!

http://www.fccrush.com/?p=team94

The most "talked about team/coach" is looking good so far this year.  Not quite the mystery they were last year but still one of the strongest out there.  After moving all the playups from last year down to age the Crush have added several good players from all over the state.  Only bad thing is they lost their "tangerine" colors due to being a Nike team now and Dragon loved to blah blah about that.  Here is their tournament season so far.

Las Vegas Invitational

(finalists)
Starting off the year on the road the "new" team faced their first tought test in the deserts of Vegas.  Beating several tough teams from That area they made it to the Semi's where they had a "war" with the Nevada state champs and won it on PK's to send them to the finals.  A tough loss to a California South team in the finals may not be what they were shooting for but it was still something to grow on.

Starfire Spring Classic

(participants)
Losing to Crossfire in their first game cost them the chance of advancing any further.  They had great games in the other matchs they played but could not get the job done against the reigning state champs so got an early ticket home.

Capitol Cup

(champs)
Though a lower level tournament (being a first time tournament) the gals still beat the teams they needed to beat.  Facing a couple of good teams in Aanvallen Green and Velocity (the Comm Cup finalists), beating them in bracket play and again in the finals coming away with their first trophy of the year!

Viking Cup

(champs)
Playing up in the U13 bracket and facing some very tough teams it would have been nice just to advance.  Beating some tough U13 teams and also beating the state champs Crossfire and the always tough Timbers Red Squad The Crush gals faced off again with Timbers in the Semi's and beat them again for a chance to face off with Dosveedanya Red 93's.  The Dos team had been showing no mercy to any of the other U12 teams and had pounded both Crossfire (5-0) and Timbers (6-1).   Most teams would of been happy just to get that far but on this day no body was going to beat the Crush gals.  Forcing an OT the Crush gals played hard till the final whistle to force PK's.  The Goalie of Crush played like a champ while the Kickers knocked down all 5 shots to take the Crown.  Clearly their best tournament this year so far!

US CLUB SOCCER REGIONALS

(participant)
Playing up again the Crush gals clearly caught on their heels this tournament.  They got rocked by a California North U13 team that put them out of any chance to advance.  They fought back hard and in 110 temps they beat an aggressive and physical Spokane Shadow 93 team.  Finishing against the Idaho State Champs they ended up with a tie.  Even with the good butt whooping they took from the Cali team, it was still a good experience for the gals.

Lake Oswego Nike Cup

(semi finalists)
Once again playing in extreme heat the Crush gals had a good showing.  Beating several tough teams to include California North teams on their way to the Semi's.  They lost to the eventual Champs out of California North.  Not the ending they wanted but a good showing for the gals in Blue.

Next on their list of tournaments; Sno-Ho Bigfoot and Huntington Beach Ca. Invitational

Gains
This team seems to draw kids from the darndest places.  First they added a Forward from the Royals and the Goalie from SilverLake.  Also new were players (2) from Thunderbirds and 1 from Dos.  Recently they added 1 player from Patriots and 1 from Timbers Red. (they also have an EFC Red player that guest plays with them during the summer).

Loses

It appears there only loses are the gals that were playing up last year that moved to their own age.

Summary

With all the talent that have went to the shores of Silverdale it should just be a matter of getting them all to gel.  Early on they appear to be doing well and according to BC's rankings are slight favorites at this time.  If this team of "wandering stars" gels then watchout!  They should be favorites to return to the Semi's at least and maybe even make a run at the crown!

NORTHWEST NATIONALS RED!!!

http://eteamz.active.com/NWNG94/

So far this team is doing very well, though Dragon must throw the word the "inconsistency" word out there.  Some times they look like world beaters and other times they do not.  It might just be all the great new talent they have needing to gel.  They have done well in most all their games so far this year and here is a look at the tournaments they have done.

Starfire Spring Classic

(participant)
Facing a tough EFC team in their very first match it came down to this 1-0 loss that made them not advance out of bracket.  They had a great tournament and played some of the best soccer Dragon has seen this year.  Having a PK during the game blocked cost them the chance of beating the other "Big Red" and moving them to the semi's, still a great showing for Big Red!

Rainier Challenge

(finalists)
Looked like the team to beat in this one, even beat the champs during bracket play and were steamrolling over all the other teams.  It came down to the finals in this one and a rematch of the game with Ireland in Bracket play.  This time the Or. State champs came out on top and beat Big Red 1-0 to send the gals home with the silver medal.  Even though they did not win, the team still showed Dragon that they are a team to contend with this year!

Diadora Cup

(participants)
Not getting out of bracket play in this one and not seeming to be able to put the ball in the net either.  Dragon thought this might have been a different team by the outcome of many of their games.  They lost their bracket by one point to the Pat's and went home early.  Surely not what they wanted, but something to grown on for sure.

South Cal Slammers Tournament

(participant)
Taking their first road trip the Big Red gals faced some of their toughest competition.  They were caught on their heels against the Cal-South State Champ Slammers and gave up six goals in the 0-6 lose.  They bounced back though and fought hard to tie the semifinalists 0-0, they had their confidence up again but had a very tough lose to the Utah State finalist losing 0-1.  Not the best outcome, but once again a great learning experience on how to play the very best teams out there.

Crossfire Challenge

(semi finalists)
Playing again some of their best soccer ever, they came face to face again with Ireland in a rematch of the RC.  Once again they played great but lost 2-1 against the soon to be champs.  Early on in the 2nd half a goal off a FK got called offsides (which many in attendance said should have been a goal) kind of took the wind out of the gals sails.  Again a "brides maid', but never let it be said they didn't have a Great tournament!

Next on their hitlist of tournaments is; Chinook Cup.

Gains
Dragon not 100% sure on his info but know they have a new goalie formally from the Muk. Blast 93 team and also have another great field Player from Blast.  Also they added a gal from ESA 93 last year and Dragon believes one from Skagit Red, and 1 from NWN Blue. and 1 SL Stars.

Loses
Only aware of 1 that went to ESA and possibly one to their Blue team.

 Summary
For sure a team to watch out for.  They can run hot and cold but Dragon believes on any given day they can beat anybody in the state.  Look for them to go far in the state cup and get at least to the Semi's if not furhter!!

EASTSIDE FC RED!!!

http://eteamz.active.com/efc94red/

This team is the defending state runner's up, and have looked like they have only gotten stronger.  The D3 Big Red has reached at least the semi's of all their tournaments (but 1) and continue to play hard and have one of the best defenses in the state.  Here is a look at their tournaments so far.

Starfire Spring Classic

(semi finalists)
Playing in what some called an "all out war" in their first game against NWN, it set the tone for their season. Two of their new players shown brightly as a new defender kicked in a FK from at least 30 yds out and their new Goalie saved a PK.  They went on a roll from then on only to lose to the soon to be champs Crossfire in the semi's.  It was a very close game that was decided on a PK.  They did not get as far as they wanted but they looked very strong!

Starfire Memorial Cup

(champs)
Dragon feels this was a lower level tournament due to the other teams but the Gumby gals showed they can dominate the teams they should.  Rolling over most of the teams they earned their first cup of the year.  A good confidence builder for the team and set them up to play great games during the PDL spring league.

Skagit FireCracker

(finalists)
The EFC girls came into this tournament on a roll and had not even had a shot on goal in several games.  They rolled through the competition to come face to face with a hungrey Crossfire Amy team.  The team battled hard but could only force a tie and wound up with the silver medal after PK's.  It was a good experience for the gals and really opened their eyes that they cannot overlook any team.

Diadora Cup

(participants)
The EFC girls seemed to be in a scoring funk in this one.  Whatever new lineup they have did not work very well during bracket play.  For the first time they did not reach the semi's but did wind up pounding their own "B" team in the consolation game.  Maybe that is what the offense needed to wake up.  Surley this was their low point of the season.

Evergreen Invitational

(champs)
Well the gals must have decided no more fooling around after their last tournament. Going in as favorites they were still not too cocky about this tournament.  They battled hard in every game and reached the finals against one of the states best teams in ESA.  They were not going to let themselves down in this one and came home with the Gold after a 4-0 victory!!

Next on their hit list of tournaments are; Rimland Cup and then Chinook Cup.

Gains
They gained several very talented players at the beginning of the year.  They added a great goalie (that they needed deperately) from Force, 2 players from their "B" team which shows how great their devolpment is, and also had an addition from NWN 93 team who played up last year.

Loses
Far as Dragon knows, they only lost 1 to Crossfire Porter and one moved up to the U13's and one went to Canada with her family.

Summary
All the gals seem very happy and the parents are known as some of the nicest around. Clearly a favorite to go all the way again this year.  Should not be counted out in any game or end of season state cup.  Might not bring home the silver this year, it just might be Gold!!

COLUMBIA TIMBERS RED!!!

http://www.cpscsoccer.org/frameset.php

One of the best teams last year set out on a mission to get stronger this year.  Brought in a new coach and a "Slew" of new talent from FCV.  Known all over Wa. for their strong agressive play, they have not changed with all the new players.  Here is a look at their tournaments so far.

Starfire Spring Classic

(finalists)
Coming out like gang busters they steamrolled over everyone in their path.  Facing the Pat's in the Semi's it was a "high powered" shoot out with the Timbergals coming out on top.  They went into the finals full of confidence but lost to the state champs in the 2nd OT.  Not the Medal they wanted but still a very strong start for the gals from cow town!

Viking Cup

(semi finalists)
Playing up in the U13 bracket they came to the VK instead of defending their RC championship in order to "play the best".  They did great against some tough clubs only to lose to Crush during bracket play and wound up getting slammed by the Dos 93 squad.  They came back strong only to lose to the champs in the semi's in a close match.

US Club Soccer Regionals

(participants)
Facing blistering 110 degree temps the Timber gals faced some of their toughest opponents to date.  With a record of 1 win and 2 loses it was not what they hoped for, but it was a great learning experince for the gals and definately something to build on!

Cascade Cup

(champs)
Playing in a "lower level" tounament might have been just what the doctor ordered.  The Cow town gals got their confidence back as they hammered all the oposition in the road to the gold medal!  A great win for the gals and a good warm up for the Or. state qualifiers!

Next tournaments on their hit list is;  (pending confirmation)

Gains
Whoa!  Where does Dragon start.  At the beginning of the year you almost wanted to call the team the Columbia Timblosion!  Lots of new talent came from FCV and so far they seem to be working out great.

Loses
Several of the gals got lost in the shuffle of all the new players, some went to Timbers Blue, while other went to Nemesis.  Recently also lost one to Crush.

Summary
For sure one of the best out there.  Should make it further then last years loss in the Elimination rounds.  Once all those new players gel it will be a team to watch as they rise to the top!!

Well CP's, Dragon is pooped!!!!  Started this post at 3:50pm!   (now you know by lookin at the time D posted it, how much he love you)

Feel free to start some blah blah blah of your own about these great 7 teams.

Updated this post with some "corrections" ;)

Quote from: "Dragon"

Well as we all know this team is the Defending State Champs and they came out swinging Just like we thought they would.  They have set out to prove that the State Crown last year was not a fluke and have racked up some hardware proving it to us!  Dragon also have limited information as far as changes but can see they have about 3 new girls this year.  They have played in 6 tournaments this year and here is their recap;

State champs came out on top and beat Big Red 2-1 to send the gals home with the silver medal.

Next on their hitlist of tournaments is; Rimland cup.

Gains
Dragon not 100% sure on his info but know they have a new goalie formally from the Muk. Blast 93 team and also have another great field Player from Blast.  Also they added a gal from ESA 93 last year and Dragon believes one from NWN Red 93's.
