ODP Thanksgiving interregionals
« on: October 23, 2005, 01:42:03 AM »

Anyone know who was selected to the regional teams from our state to play in the Thanksgiving interregionals ? What clubs are they from? For those who were selected congratulations on your hard work and good luck in Florida (Girls) and Texas (Boys). Play hard and play well, and show everyone that Washington state has some great talent. :D

I know some of them, but you can find the complete lists here
http://www.regioniv.com/odp.htm
If you are unsure what state each player is from, cross reference them with the regional pool players.

You will find the lists under girls odp new...thanksgiving and boys odp news ..thanksgiving.

Are you talking just players from washington?¿?  Out of both sides boys/girls. I could probably go thru them tomorrow night and places clubs next to the washington players names, it would take a little time.

Any particular player your wondering about?¿?

Gotcha.....ODP is usually pretty good at not showing club names. Not sure why, but it's seems to be the standard to not list clubs.

Kind of like the U-15 girls national camp going on...not a peep on US Soccer or anywhere else. Unless you were involved you'd never know these things even happened..Sad in so many ways

the clubs these players come from through out the country are never mentioned, yet without them they would have a hard time scouting the top players for state, regional or national camps, would be hard for the ODP program to grow without the club teams these players spend the majority of their years with and usually get the majority of their training from. So you would think they would give some recognition back to all these clubs for being able to develop these young athletes, and yes there are some who probably don't receive as good of training that others do on other clubs. Maybe thats why they don't. ! agree they never show any info on the national camps, good luck to Washingtons (Beth Wright) she is a very talented and hardworking young lady.

I'm not sure it will ever change. I'm not exactly sure why they never mention clubs, but they don't. Maybe because in some cases players change clubs and rather than have to update club names for players it's easier to not name them to start with.

I also found it strange that 2 girls who played with the U-16 national team last year, are not on the list for the Boca trip. I'm not in the know on this though, so maybe they declined an invite..who knows.

I was wondering about that also,  Could be they are giving others an oppertunity to be seen. Both these players are pretty well established in the system and may just be taking a break since they had a pretty busy schedule last year, I highly doubt its because they didn't deserve a spot, but then again you never know if there were other reasons behind it. :?  :o
