Gotta go with Crossfire.  We play some real knock-down-drag-out games.  The teams are well matched. They played for the championship last year.  Many of the girls attend the same schools or live in the same neighborhoods... I could go on and on.  :D

Dragon would agree with Gumby.  If there was only one 94 game D could watch on a weekend (besides own DD), would go watch Crossfire P. and EFC Red!

I think Eastside White    and Velocity 8)  have developed a pretty good rivalry also.

I was at Rainier earlier this year and NWN Red and Southside Ireland could have something going?

I was at that game and would have to disagree. Maybe NWN would have liked to have won, but didn't see any rivalry.

Would agree with EFC Red and Crossfire, but maybe Red has a rivalry with both the 1st and 2nd teams at Crossfire  .

I've seen Velocity play (other than against us, a few times) and yes we have lost to them and would like to change that, but I think EFC White has proven there is no rivalry needed.

Now lets see if there is one to start this weekend with Crossfire Amy and Eastside White. For the same reasons Gumby mentioned, girls that go to school together, players that have played for the others team and to prove who is the best 2nd team in the state. Last match up (Spring PDL) was pretty equal and both had chances to win the game. Both will want to prove something again this weekend fo sho!

Good luck to both teams!

How can you have a rivalry if you only see each other, maybe, in a summer tourny?

NWN is from WA, Southside is from OR.

Mainly referring to the fact that Crossfire Amy won the Commisioners Cup last year and that Not many 2nd teams can play the top first teams (Xfire P and EFC Red) and either beat them or hold them to 1-0. As both these two 2nd teams have done in the past.

that is a good point, lots of us here (includin' Dragon) sometimes refer to EFC White or Crossfire Amy as da best "B" teams in the state...

But in da big picture, would think NWN Blue and Timbers Blue would have sumthin ta say about that

Yes,  I absolutely think NWN Blue is one of the best 2nd teams in the state. Have not played or seen Timbers. Although they did ask to have a friendly with us. Timing and distance, just didn't work out for us.

I think there is a rivalry between Ireland and NWN Reds.  Granted, they  only played three games against one another this summer, but the intensity level of each game was unbelievable, with all three games decided by just one goal, (the last one in overtime).  I was sad to hear #13 and #14 decided to leave the team.

I think a couple of potential rivals for Ireland over time will be Eastside Reds/Timbers Red.  Eastside Reds for a couple of reasons; the game they played at Chinook Cup was a classic battle that ended 0-0.  The fact, that Holly, the daughter of Irelands coach, played with Frenchie at UP adds a little extra something.  Gumby,  I'm going to give you a call next Spring to find out your summer tournament schedule.  We have to get these two teams together more than once a summer.

Timbers Red for obvious reasons.  The two teams are only about a 30 minute drive from one another, you have the border bragging rights thing, and they played one of those classic games at Chinook Cup two summers ago that ended in a 4-3 victory for Timbers.  Its hard to believe these teams have only played one meaningful game in a little over a year.

well, I suppose if the goal differential is the measureing stick, then we too have a rivalry with nwn red.  pats blue diadora tie, shared bracket, etc.  Ireland beat us by a goal to move on to face the nats in the rc.  it was anyones game that day.

heck, the pats just wanna play em all :-)

Timbers Blue and ESU Sunderland have had one knock down drag out this summer. Indoor with them is always good.

I like the friendships that we have cemented better then the rivilary. TimBlu really enjoyed playing ESA, Ireland, Energy, Patriots, Westsound and of course FCV.

The EFC/Ireland game in 2005's Crossfire Challenge was  a classic as well.  #2 for Ireland goes and puts one in in like the first 2 minutes to take the quick lead and put EFC on thier heels.  EFC had to scratch and claw (figuratively of course) every second of that game to get back in it.  I too would love to play Ireland more than once a year.  :D

I think the biggest rivalry with EFC White will be NWN Blue, as in 3 games that we have played them we have tied them every time!
NOW if that isn't a rivalry, what is?!!?
