Eclipse is the best team in the group.  The Chika Lobos did play very tough today and defensively did not give them much room.

The second goal for The Lobos was a scramble of players.  We are not even sure how it went in the net.

I think that some of the Chika Lobo girls need the players of the week.

I would have to disagree.  I have seen the majority of D1 teams play, Red and Blue brackets.  Although NWN Red appears to have its ups and downs and trouble with finishing, I think they have a more advanced style of play, when they are able to do it.  While most D1 teams, bunch (and horribly so in front of the goal, but effective at U11) and play kick ball, NWN has the ability to play a beautiful passing game and the players have wonderful ball handling skills, some exceptionally so.

And, no, I have no clue who Dragon is, and I am a CP from NWN Red.  :?

While I have to agree with Madaboutsoccer about NWN Fan being a little Bias I also have to agree with NWN Fan about the Big Red.  They do play a notch above the rest of the D1 teams.  Not far behind is a big cluster of teams that on any given day can beat Big Red and each other.
Chika is in that group and also has their ups and downs (Today beat Eclipse but ties ECFC last week).

All teams at some point have "wonderfull" ball handling skills and "Beautiful" passes.  All teams also have major flubs (like a full swing and miss) at times.  This is only GU11, not the national team. ;)

EFC Red 2 - Dosveedanya 1
« Reply #14 on: October 29, 2005, 07:00:42 PM »

A very good game from both sides.  EFC came out strong and scored maybe 5 minutes in.  DOS was undetered and kept playing hard.  DOS's effort was rewarded about 20 minutes in with a goal of thier own..  1-1 at half.

Yhe second half was pretty much back and forth with EFC getting a core about halfway through.  EFC's defense then stiffened and Dos could get a decent chance the rest of the game.

A great game by all the girls.  :D  :D

Biased because my DD is on the team (of course), but knowledgeable about the game from being involved in it for over 30 years.

For someone that is knowlegable of the game, you sure have a bad perception of how games are played. Yes some teams bunch, and play kick ball, but not all. When you are beaten, you come up with an excuse and what us to believe that it was a fluke. On any given day a team can be beaten,  just watch the EPL. As far as your team being ahead of the pack, maybe in your eyes. You never know what a team is working on in training.
You might be surprised again, and if you think not , you will have a long road ahead of you. 10 yr. old girls are not perfect, and mistakes will be made.

People, I did not say they are better. That was your perception of my feeling they have a better/advanced style of play.  And I also said when they can do it.  They have not been able to play like that since Chinook Cup (which most of you did not see).  I can tell you exactly what they work on at practice.  Ball handling skills.  That is the majority of their practices.  Individual ball handling skills.  Not finishing, not positions, not plays, not etc....

Ouch, sorry I finally decided to post.

Good luck to all GU11!  Truly do enjoying watching them all play.

EFC Whtie 4 Crossfire Lim 0
EFC played great possession, while passing and moving.  XFire Lim had a few opportunities in the back as players were in different positions, but GK came up strong making one really good diving save that could easily have gone in.
Excited to play Reign next weekend!!!

FC Royals 2 Harbor 1

THe game belonged to Harbor.  They outplayed the Royals most of the game.  With 40 seconds left a ball rolled across the line.  Have to hand it to Harbor, THEY CAME OUT TO WIN!  They should walk away with their heads held high!!!!  Great Job!!!

I understood what you said did not sound out of line. Eclipse not best in bunch saw one of there key players today and said they are leaning towards Red next year  tryouts ??

Best to stick with team since this far into season. :?

Also good to tryout at a couple different teams...the all your eggs in one basket thing can hurt if not make the only team you tryout for.

I have to agree with Blue and White's comments. Harbor totally outplayed our girls and it was the Luck of the Irish that the ball rolled in at the tail end. The Harbor Team was clearly out to beat the Royals and they played strong the entire game. But we also have to give some credit to the RRG's because they never gave up and kept of fighting up until the end.

It was not a pretty game by any means and the referring was some of the worst I have seen in a long time. This is no excuse for the way the RRG's played though and I too think the Harbor Team is a Class Act and we told many of their girl's after the game what a terrific job they did.

Until next Week!!!

If Harbor out played your team, why is it that your own website lists that the Royals out shot Harbor 14 to 3?   :?:

Royals v Harbor
« Reply #29 on: October 30, 2005, 12:34:28 PM »

As a Harbor CP, game was excellent- girls were in game whole time. Went ahead at before half on corner set play, then gave one back about 10-15 min second half.  Royals had our girls on heels most of the second half. With under minute to play Royals forward in middle of scrum -tapped a ball towards right post. It had enough english when it caroomed towards left side and crossed the line. Great Job for Royals - Unlucky for Us. My DD the Goalie just missed the ball- She doesn't feel bad about it because she understands it was just a play! We watched DVD over and over and ball just gets under foot.  Overall it was a tough loss but our girls are resillient and will bounce back- Believe That! Thank You Royals for great game!

BTW -I record every game and transfer to DVD. Any parent interested please PM me.
