WPFC defeated NWN Dynamo 4-1?  EFC beats Xfire 2-1?  Can't wait to read this weeks BU-15 banter.

Ant - you funny

Good EFC v Xfire game, similar to the first game with a different result - looking forward to the end of year.

Not sure how the standings will end up, only thing that seems set is the Top 3 (sorry Eddy, no Dynamo this year) and the bottom team - though it is great to see them still fighting and posting a win against Whatcom.

S/M, I admire your restraint. Surely there must have been something to boast about . The first to beat Xfire this season, etc. Looks like EFC may be starting their peak as they did last year at this time.EFC will likely finish #3 as their schedule(ECFC,WFC and Snoho) should allow them to go 3-0 and finish with 26.But having had a hard time with each of those teams in prior games and getting only 4 pts, one never knows. Doubtful that they won't get at least 6 pts and 23.

WPFC has a firm lock on #2 . With their schedule(SunCity,Snoho,ECFC and Xfire) they could get 12 points (assuming they beat Xfire the last weekend) and finish with 34.

Even if Xfire goes 3-1, they would still finish #1 with 36.

4,5,6 and 7 remain up for grabs.

SunCity is in 4th with 14, but have played 2 more games and only sit 2 points ahead of Dynamo and Snoho. They play WPFC and then Dynamo, so they may end with 14. Their 4 pts v EFC may have saved their hides. Best possible is 17.

Dynamo. Not sure what to say. Easy, early goals are getting them in trouble and offense (6 GF in last 4 games, 3 v ECFC!!!) is nonexistent right now. 9GA/2GF v EFC and WPFC the last 2 weeks looks ugly. They are too talented to let this season go and if facing relegation is not a motivator I am not sure what is. At 12 pts, and assuming 3-1 the rest of the way (big assumption but possible with Snoho, SunCity,WFC and Xfire), they would end with 21, good for 4th. Even 2-2 should keep them in P1 and possibly 4th with 18, important for State Cup seed.

Snoho. I guess they are still banged up. Having the ex-EFC kid should help the rest of the way. Big game v Dynamo this weekend. Loser in trouble. Even if they win, they must play WPFC,EFC and WFC. So they are in heep gimpchy if they lose this weekend. Could end with 12 pts, at best 18.

WFC. Their slipper don't fit anymore. 0-4-1 last 5 games has them looking at relegation. Upcoming games v Xfire,EFC,Snoho then Dynamo...they could indeed end the year with 11 points and #7, at best 17.

ECFC. They play Xfire, EFC and WPFC. Max possible 3 pts ,good for 9 pts. Good night and welcome to P2. Interesting that there could be 2 ECFC teams in P2 next year though ECFC White is fighting to avoid relegation to P3. Wonder if  they field one team in a combined effort next year as it is likely that many players will jump ship. Losing them makes travel worse for next year.

From P2, looks like Vancouver Crew and SC Eclipse  (with Westsound a long shot)  will be joining P1 (all make longer road trips for next season for most). Give credit to Crew who won P3 last year and are poised to win P2 this year. Just shows how LPTs are not always fair for certain teams.

Soccermama, you don't have to provided Crossfire with any quotes to fire them up next time, but could you give us some sort of game report?

Who scored in what order? What styles of play? Coach behavior? Officiating?

Damn! I'd have to watch the games to find out what happens, and then I have no plauible deniability.  I was hoping to get a report because I saw the first game between the teams and I was interested in how they solved Crossfire (other than actually having their coach present).

If I had to guess, as I did NOT see the game, EFC won the battle of the trenches and simply outworked them using their size and speed to advantage. I think that Xfire will lose their last game to WPFC who seem to also be returning to last year's form. Xfire is fast but are NOT strong. A lesson for other teams to note.

I'm sure other spectators would have differing perspectives, but here's mine as a neutral observer:

Crossfire scored first and quickly after kick-off.  They appeared to be faster to the ball and with more control for the first 15 minutes or so of the first half.

The EFC boys earned a few early foul calls as a couple of the larger players tried to use their size advantage a little too much.  This spoiled a few of their early attacks, but they quickly settled down and began to more effectively challenge every ball.

The remainder of the first half was very balanced between the two teams.

In the second half, EFC capitalized on Crossfire defensive mistakes and scored in the 52nd and again in the 59th minute of play. Overall play in the second half again looked very balanced to me, with both teams putting together good attacks.  EFC defense was working very well -- I give them credit for this victory.

Coaches and sidelines were all well behaved -- not really noticed during the game.  Xfire fans did heckle one of the AR's over what they felt should have been Xfire corners rather than EFC goal kicks.  But Bernie quieted them down quickly.

Three cautions, 2 for EFC and 1 for Xfire.

Officiating was among the best they've ever had  :D  (but some might say that's not saying much)  ;)

OK - again, Rose colored glasses for EFC speaking:

First half slightly to Xfire, second half to EFC.

Officiating OK, gave appropriate cards.  Good AR's.

EFC goaltending, defense, midfield and forwards all did well and played as a team, moving ball well throughout.

It was a good game.

Actually, we should compliment VMS on his brilliant subterfuge!  By making the comment about wearing the EFC jacket, he's managed to distract everyone from discussing Dynamo's result against WPFC and got them talking about the jacket and the EFC/Xfire match instead! ;)

No need to razz someone when they are down (VMS and ED)

- it's about the kids anyways and I am sure they aren't feelin' too hot after the last 2 games.

Although, I bet the posting would have been a lot more boisterous with a Dynamo win and an EFC loss ;)

I already said it was no contest. Easy goals x2...defensive blunders led to 2-0 at half. A third miscue led to goal #3 early. A goal by Dynamo on a nice cross to my kid who hammered it home made it 3-1.The 4th goal was all #7 for WPFC who received a pass at the 30, blew by the defenders and struck it into the upperV for 4-1.

Recurrent theme.Dynamo is getting beat by faster and/or stronger forwards, repeatedly.  Going down early has changed their offense from patient early to rushed and a difficult time finishing as well.Having their main striker injured all year has hurt them dramatically. He may have scored once this season but is playing generally less than 20 minutes a game. But that is only one problem. Just a general lack of synchronicity.

Plenty of talented kids on this team . Workrate could be better.Stronger sense of urgency early. And of course, scoring first always helps!!

VMS has been banished to the garage with Fido until the EFC garb is discarded and off, this from a very reliable source, I might add.

VMS may not attend Dynamo games, practices, etc or any other team function until furthur notice. No exceptions! Geez even the Dynamo airlines won't let him on board to Nomads.  He may be spending time with the Pidgeon sisters if the rain persists under his umbrella......who'da thought.........

To the contrary, I think he has very professional ideas for youth soccer.IMO,its parents and players who are not with his club that find fault, because we are on the outside looking in.
He IS a winner no doubt and able to attract a certain breed of kid. 8)

And for what it's worth there are boys on EFCRED who have either played for or tried out for  Xfire in the past few years, so I guess they didn't get that memo ;)
