Jcubs Top 12 Week #9 Regular season
« on: November 06, 2005, 10:46:22 PM »

Here we go again, some movement after this weekends games.

# 1 And still undefeated FC Royals Blue 9-0. Good job RR girls. I think this team should provide Dragons POTW with Beautiful scoring a hat trick :D Good job girls.

# 2 Eastside Red 7-1-1 I know this team would have won if Gumby was there.

# 3 NWN Red 8-1 With a big win this weekend. They have proven to be one of the States Elite.

# 4 Xfire ? is it Porter or Lombard 3-0-5 with a tie continues their undefeated season at U-12.

# 5 FC Crush 5-3-1 With a tie against Eastside they prove to be a quality team. Lucky Gumby wasn't there

# 6 Reign Purple 5-2-2 A surprising tie this weekend.

# 7 A tie between two teams playing D-5 U-12 FC Vancouver and Columbia Timbers. Timbers with a loss and FC with a win brings these two teams too identical records of 4-3-1.

# 9 Harbor FC 4-4-1 A win against Eagles L shows they are competitive in the States tuffest league.

#10 DOS 4-5-0 A win is a win and that puts them right on Harbors heels.

# 11 A tie with two GT teams that I wish were in GP SSC Patriots and Velocity with 7-1-1 records, Do these two teams face each other any time soon?

Bubble Teams - Eagles L, Eastside white, Badgers, NWN Blue, Norpoint, and .........................................

Remember I'm just a CP doing this for fun. All U-11 girls and teams have improved so much and are fun to watch and see their improvement in front of our eyes. Thank you to all the coaches for your time and commitment, and a special thanks to all these 9 and 10 year old girls that give us all a reason to act so crazy.

J-Man come back after few days no posting and feels he got to post twice

Dragon glad you support those great teams that are playing at U12.  Great job representing the 94's gals

Dragon also think EFC was effected by the "curse of the Gumby"

FCV & Timbers are great teams, too bad they can not be in D1 or D3, would love to see them play every week with the other top teams.

Also, thanks for reminding Dragon about POTW.  It also remind Dragon to go over rules to POTW again.

Another great job of rankings by the J-Man :P

Not to make a blind nomination, but if Beautiful scored 3 goals. I'll just nominate her without seeing the game. At any level scoring 3 goals in a game is a big achievement.

Great job if it's true you scored 3 goals.

She did score 3. One was a PK and the other 2 were clean goals. She does well because she also has a great group of girls that are good at setting up the play and passing so The whole team deserves Team of the week. Keep up the good work "B" and the rest of the River Road girls.
 :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

You make us all proud and I truly enjoy watching you play each week. ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)

Seems that Jcub forgot about D1 teams, except for NWN red and blue. Too many D3 teams. Some teams with better records in both red and blue division than teams on list. If, records are what you are using for criteria. :?

It is very difficult to compare teams from different divisions unless they play each other.

Summer tournaments are a small way to tell how good a team is but many teams have guest players or a "B" team might use a handfull of "A" team players and make a real good showing.

I guess we just have to wait for the State Cup

Based on summer tournament play, the facts don't support that statment.  D1 teams were almost routinely defeated by the top D3 teams. There were some occasional wins or ties by top D1 teams but there were just that...occassional.  Crossfire - Porter defeated ECFC White/Green, Badgers, Mukilteo, Lake Stevems, NWN Blue/Red Snohomish.  Even Crossfire's B team (Amy) with no wins in league play to date split with NWN's teams (1-0 over Blue and lost just 1-0 to Red).  However, NWN Red did split with Eastside 2-1 loss &  1-0 win.  Crush Academy beat all D1 teams they faced. FC Royals only faced one D1 team...the Badgers and beat them 8-0.  The Badgers are currently 3rd with 6 wins 2 ties and a loss with only 5 goals against them in 9 game....the royals scored 8 in one game against them.  Currently the SilverLake Stars are 1st in GU11 Red and they lost 5-0 to Eastside Red.  NWN Blue is in second...they tied Crossfire Porter & Dos 0-0 but never defeated a D3 team (losing to to Amy, Porter & Crush).  The Reign defeated 3 D1 teams in a tournament....crushing Snoho Chika 7-0, ESA 5-0 and Extreme 4-1.  Gold Plat front runner Norpoint USA'ers easily defeated Skagit Storm 4-0. There is a clear difference in the level of play between the more successful D3 teams to that of the D1 teams.

How true Jcub. It is just so exciting to see the deveopment in these girls and watch their self esteem improve with their skills. Twenty years from now when soccer is a distant memory for most of these girls the effects of the oppurtunities we have provided will still be helping our little girls deal with real life situations.

Well said Reporter 411....and you didn't even get into the District 5 senerio with the same facts...would be nice to see.  Crossfire P,  Vancouver and Timbers playing at a higher level with an average record doesn't justify a lower ranking.  Wiseone's week #10 rankings..sticking with the top15:

1.   Royals
2.   Eastside Red
3.   Crossfire P. (playing well at U12)
4.   Timbers (not ready to move down..next two games will change things if any loses.)
5.   Crush  (strong game against #2 puts them up a notch)
6.   FC Vancouver (coming on strong)
7.   Reign Purple  ( lots of ties to lower ranked  teams put them     back two notches..still strong team)
8.   Harbor (hate to move these guys down a notch, they're playing consistant and scoring a lot.  three top ranked teams in the next four weeks will change things)
9.   NWN Red  (A win against a 2-4-3 team is not yet deserving for a notch up in the rankings...but, still playing good with consistancy)
10. Dos ( two top teams next..will define them)
11. Eclipes  (good wins in the last two weeks)
12. ESA (coming on strong)
13. Patriots (deserving with consistancy)
14. HCS Laity- (playing very strong in a tough D3)
15. Bainbridge Blue (strong D4 representation)

I think Wiseone is all over it :D   Good job on including a D4 team.  I know nothing about them at all :(

Again, it is difficult to judge a team on how it did in the summer to now.
1. The girls were still trying to get used to each other.
2. The girls were still trying to learn their new position after playing rec.
3. All teams used guest players, some were ringers others fit in well with the team.
4. The skill level with an additional couple months of training has improved as time goes on.

This is why U11 and U12 are developemental years.  U13 everything is put together, some playing in the state league.
U14 on up is all LPT's

There are very few D5 vs D1 matches to compare.  Looking at teams such as Xplosion, Timbers, Timberettes, Salmon Creek Nemesis, C/W Magic, Heartbreakers...I only can see two mtahces played.  Timbers beat NWN Red 2-1 in May and 2-0 in August.

I disagree...a team that doesn't necessarily win many games in the summer also shares the same things you listed as the team that does do well.  The successful and not successful teams all are all getting use to each other, learning their positions, although they may or may not have guest players but they are improving with training just the same.  Don't think that from June/July to now that just your child's team improved...so did your top teams like Crossfire, Crush, Timbers, Royals, Eastside, etc.

Cheese you are right on I know our team has improved night and day compared to summer months. Those first three to four months as a new team is a learning experience. I would think most teams go threw it .

State Cup tournaments will show how much these teams have improved. The beginning of tournamment season(April-May) most of these teams were still playing bootball, It's nice to watch a game were these 9-10 year old girls have advanced their level of play and are actually playing soccer 8)  good job girls :D

Reply to Cheese's post where he/she  wrote..."Again, it is difficult to judge a team on how it did in the summer to now.
1. The girls were still trying to get used to each other.
2. The girls were still trying to learn their new position after playing rec.
3. All teams used guest players, some were ringers others fit in well with the team.
4. The skill level with an additional couple months of training has improved as time goes on."

I realize that all teams improve from spring to summer to fall.  I just noticed that some teams did awesome in tournaments and just fell off the face of the earth in districts.  Whereas some teams that did "so-so" in tournaments are in the top half of their district.  I'm just saying it's real hard to determine true strengths of a team when the dynamics change as time goes on.

I still think Wiseones top 15 is right on. ;)
