I mostly agree with Wiseone - can't wait untill State Cup time.  Bet we'll all be surprised by a team or two we never heard of before.

Dragon cannot wait for state tournament.  Will be exciting times here on WPS

When are the first games (approximate) scheduled to start?

Well said Reporter 411....and you didn't even get into the District 5 senerio with the same facts...would be nice to see.  Crossfire P,  Vancouver and Timbers playing at a higher level with an average record doesn't justify a lower ranking.  Wiseone's week #10 rankings..sticking with the top15:

1.   Royals
2.   Eastside Red
3.   Crossfire P. (playing well at U12)
4.   Timbers (not ready to move down..next two games will change things if any loses.)
5.   Crush  (strong game against #2 puts them up a notch)
6.   FC Vancouver (coming on strong)
7.   Reign Purple  ( lots of ties to lower ranked  teams put them     back two notches..still strong team)
8.   Harbor (hate to move these guys down a notch, they're playing consistant and scoring a lot.  three top ranked teams in the next four weeks will change things)
9.   NWN Red  (A win against a 2-4-3 team is not yet deserving for a notch up in the rankings...but, still playing good with consistancy)
10. Dos ( two top teams next..will define them)
11. Eclipes  (good wins in the last two weeks)
12. ESA (coming on strong)
13. Patriots (deserving with consistancy)
14. HCS Laity- (playing very strong in a tough D3)
15. Bainbridge Blue (strong D4 representation)

Where would you put the Tri-City Lightning? A good team I have heard little about. Have seen them in Tournaments., a very good team, but cant find them anywhere.

Dragon agree, D1 will run amok during the state cup and kick butt and take names later

Based on summer tournament play, the facts don't support that statment.  D1 teams were almost routinely defeated by the top D3 teams. There were some occasional wins or ties by top D1 teams but there were just that...occassional.  Crossfire - Porter defeated ECFC White/Green, Badgers, Mukilteo, Lake Stevems, NWN Blue/Red Snohomish.  Even Crossfire's B team (Amy) with no wins in league play to date split with NWN's teams (1-0 over Blue and lost just 1-0 to Red).  However, NWN Red did split with Eastside 2-1 loss &  1-0 win.  Crush Academy beat all D1 teams they faced. FC Royals only faced one D1 team...the Badgers and beat them 8-0.  The Badgers are currently 3rd with 6 wins 2 ties and a loss with only 5 goals against them in 9 game....the royals scored 8 in one game against them.  Currently the SilverLake Stars are 1st in GU11 Red and they lost 5-0 to Eastside Red.  NWN Blue is in second...they tied Crossfire Porter & Dos 0-0 but never defeated a D3 team (losing to to Amy, Porter & Crush).  The Reign defeated 3 D1 teams in a tournament....crushing Snoho Chika 7-0, ESA 5-0 and Extreme 4-1.  Gold Plat front runner Norpoint USA'ers easily defeated Skagit Storm 4-0. There is a clear difference in the level of play between the more successful D3 teams to that of the D1 teams.

My first question is, how many girls are returning to the same team after playing up? D3 gets to play teams up, when D1 is only allowed to play 3 per team. Big advantage. So when you say NWN split with Eastside, that shows you the girls of the Big Red are quite the contenders.Takes a little time to catch the curve.  Yes they have a leg up at the beggining to the year, but girls have started to catch up with your so called " clear difference in level of play". I think you will be surprised to seel how well all  D1 teams do at the end of the year.  :) So dragon don't be so bummed. :)

This team out of Eastern Washington only did Summer tournaments from what I heard.  They were a good team that won the Beaverton Cup and runner up to Harbor in the Crossfire Challenge Silver Bracket.

Cleaver...A heavy, broad-bladed knife or hatchet used especially by butchers.

Clever....Mentally quick and original; bright.

I see the genius in your post 'ole grand fire breathing one...a play on both words to show that original Crusher post was both witty and was stabbing D1 in the back (hence the cleaver).....or you just made a spelling error!

...and I have some Mexican beachfront property that got blown into sea at the last hurricane to sell you too.  Keep holding on to that thought while you fire up another bowl~ BTW...after NWN Red improved to win 1-0 against Eastside in the second match at Diadora...the pretender contenders still lost 2-0 to D3 Crossfire in the finals!

Must be a D3 parent. Not a smoker, thanks anyway. The so called " pretend contenders" still beat a team with many returning players. Can't take that away from a good team. 2-0 , must have been a good game played by the Red to hold a 2nd yr U-11 team to only 2 points. Don't hate, I was just pointing out the advantage that D3 has over D1. Many great teams in both D1 and D3. I love to watch any team play, no matter what dist. they play in. Hope you are not just an angry Crush parent , taking you anger out after being beat by some teams you thought you could just walk over. Some peoples ego. Any team on any given weekend..

I think D-1 teams might be a little better than alot give them credit.
NWN Reds would give most D-3 and D-5 teams a good match, but until state cup, we'll all form our opinions.
