Make-Up Games?
« Reply #2 on: January 15, 2007, 06:42:24 PM »

Thanks Muffy! .....

Question :?:

Looking at the WSYSA website it appears that some teams had their games canceled last weekend due to the snow.
Which games were canceled vs those that have been played but are not updated on the website?

Example .... Farasi (?) what's up

No offense Big Cat :)  But.... in defense of my SW WA teams.  How do you NOT pick HB White over Silverlake? (And, I was skeptical at the start of the cup), but they beat Crossfire Stauber, and they tied Karajamulo Farasi (#1, and #2).  They tied Ev Blitz, (on a day where nobody should have been playing anyway, and a lesser team might have come forward and won).  Not to take away from Silverlake, but is this a Seattle bias? :)

Now, off to analyze the Challenge cup.  (You covered the rest of the SW Wa teams to my liking- ha ha)

Yeah, the orange dude like's nothing better than to pick the big upset.  Just remember that if he always picked the favorites to win, there would be nothing to bla bla about.  ;)   I like giving him the business and all, but truth be told, I sort of like it when he picks our team to lose.       That way the girls can go out there and prove him wrong!!      8)

GU-11 Badger?
« Reply #12 on: January 16, 2007, 09:22:28 PM »

Regarding GU-11 Group C of the Commish: :?

Does anyone know if the Badger's 1/13 & 1/14 games were canceled? (no scores on the WSYSA website) :?:

If so, does this mean that they will need to get three games in by Sunday 1/21 (2 make-up and 1 scheduled)

I think the Xfire game was rescheduled due to snow, as Xfire was home and most of their games had to be rescheduled. I'm not sure where Badger FC is from but they were home for the 1-13 game

I am in agreement with you except for 1.  I know you will sleep better tonight knowing that ;)

HB White and SL.  If I am not mistaken HB White wins the tie breaker with goal differential.  If the coach thought long and hard, the chances of Blitz scoring on Farasi is slim and the chances of Farasi not scoring at least 3 goals is probably slimmer.  I would think that HB would back the back and play real conservative and not lose any sleep if there was a tie.

I know that HB white has a chance for 1st, but they also have  a chance for an oops and end up in 3rd.  2nd is better than 3rd.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow, things are heating up for my 2nd favorite district 5 team, the HB White. All year  they were put down on this site, not even reaching the top 100. Looks like all they are doing is playing in the toughest bracket and right there in the thick of things. I have seen them play 3 times, play agaisnt their coach, I doubt if they will play conservative, not their style. But you never know what can happen on a snow covered field.
One thing I think we all can agree on, they have proven is that no one on this site will ever make a living doing soccer rankings

HB White is doing well. Right now, sitting on top with 22 pts and Farasi behind them at 13.
In MY defense, it's hard to pick a team when you don't know anything about them  ( ie style of play, who is staying for State, who left, who's hurt etc )
I wish them the best and it looks to be a lock for them in first, I just wish they lived closer! I'm not looking forward to that drive if ( WHEN! ) Aanvallen takes 2nd

BTW, I picked both HB teams to win this weekend!

Here we go with Commish Cup predictions...

Soccerpop,
I don't recall anybody putting down the Heartbreakers White all year long.
I for one have not seen them play and do not have much info for that district, they just need more exposure.
I did notice they played the NW Nationals Red very tough in the Eagles tourney last Aug, that in it self should be enough to make any team worry that has to play them.
I do need to say, I think it's a stretch to say that Division B is the toughest bracket, take a look at A, D, E, F & G.

Note that Farasi, SL Venom, and XFire Stauber have played one fewer game than HB White.  So the points aren't a true tale of position.

I  have to agree with w/ you on this one.  I don't think any of the SW Wa teams were 'put down'.  I just think some of the teams went unnoticed- which is to be expected.  It's up to the smaller/less exposed teams to sneak up on everyone and win some games javascript:emoticon('8)')  The Premier teams all got attention and that's great....it's really only some of the Select teams that didn't get ranked, etc.  And, how would they- very few ventured up North for tournaments (w/ the exception of the FCV Courage, Timbers teams, and the one HB team).  And, all of them did fairly well.  Rankings are just reflections of someone's exposure to a team, combined with those 'noticed' teams records.  Anyway- enough said.  I also agree that while that bracket appears to be a tough one, there are a few others that are scary also.

Nice to see so much passion however, about some of the local teamsjavascript:emoticon(':)')  I'm still hoping for some SW Wa representation in the Challenge cup, as well as maybe an all SW Wa final in Commissioner's-----wishful thinking? Maybe, we'll see

Hard ta rank teams or notice teams that no show at many tournaments Blue.

When they do show up and they no play it top brackets hard ta place them wit teams playin at the highest level :? :? :?

Mufasa took great time and effort to evaluate ALL teams regardless of where they from or what club they with. So, barkin up wrong tree iffin your team no get noticed :|

Actually- I was agreeing w/ ya' javascript:emoticon(':?').  That was exactly my point.  I think it's impossible to rank the SW Wa teams, if they don't go to the Northern tournaments.  Also, if they go and don't play in top brackets.  So see? We agree. I believe only FCV Courage, Timbers Navy and Royal, and HB White have done this.  FCV Courage has shown well, Timbers have done well in several of these tourneys, and HB White did well at the Eagles tournament, and none of those teams play down in the lower brackets. Anyway.... it's all good. I like your predictions for the most part- I was just predicting a different outcome for that match-up.

I just chime in from time to time for the teams that I no people on, that I know are underestimated- and, to agree w/ you, for good reason- some of the teams like the element of surpisejavascript:emoticon(':D')
