***REVISED TRYOUT SCHEDULES***

The Girls Premier Club Dosveednaya is pleased to announce their 2007 tryout schedule.  All tryouts will be held at Wilson Fields in Kent.  However, due to the complex and varied State Cup Schedules, tryouts for each age group will be held at different times in March.  It's advised that you arrive at least 1/2 before your tryout for registration and warm up.  Wear your best weather appropriate soccer gear.....and bring a ball and water.

Dates and times are subject to change.  Please check the Club's Tryout Page for any updates as they are made..

Please not the following updates to the Dosveedanya tryouts...

*  KYSA will be charging a one-time-only $10 tryout fee per player.   Due to the increase in costs of field rental, KYSA could no longer absorb the cost of renting fields for tryouts.   The tryout fee offsets some of the field rental expense. This fee only needs to be paid once at the time of registration, regardless of the number of tryout sessions the player attends.
* Online pre-registration and payment will be available February 21, 2007. Please check back to pre-register.
* Players are encouraged to attend all tryout dates for their age group.
* Arrive 30 minutes early for check-in.
* Bring a ball, water, and dress appropriately for the weather.
* Shinguards must be worn to participate.

I would love to know how many hopefuls come out to try outs against how much the fields cost...actaully I know how much the fields cost :mrgreen:   Got to look after the bottom line right...what a rip off:)

I couldn't keep quiet any longer.  A quick check on clubs that charge for tryouts:  Crossfire, Federal Way, Washington Premier, NWN, and FC Vancouver just to name a few.

Soccernw there are many fallacies in what you assert to be the truth.  FC Kent coaches are NOT paid coaches.  I know because my dh is one of them.  Not once has he ever received a paycheck for his time and effort.  Only the appreciation and growth of his players.  In fact, we have spent money out of our pocket so he could further his knowledge of the game and attend a national c course (read-registration fee, vacation from work since it is a daytime, several day course, missing dh and dad, etc).  Yes, he has a paid trainer but it is included in the team budget and parents know up front and choose to play on his team willingly.

In addition, the $10 tryout fee does not cover much more than field and light costs.  Wilson fields run $60/hour w/o lights and $75/hour w/ lights.  This is per field and most of the time we need both fields!  Considering that we have reserved Wilson fields for approximately 122 hours over the 18 days that we run tryouts at $60 per hour on the cheap end (most of the time is in the late afternoon/evenings so it will actually be $75) we will be seeing a field bill of approximately $7,320.  Divide this by $10 and we will need at least 732 players to show up for tryouts in order to break even.  

In regards to your comments about costs being run up by Dos, you are wrong.  The decision to charge $10 was made by the KYSA board.  Since Dos is a club under KYSA, the fee was imposed on them.  There was discussion about why charge a fee and it came down to the fact that in order to run a program for the long term, we must be fiscally responsible.  In order to do that, we felt it best to offset some of the costs for fields by charging a $10 fee.

As a non-profit 501(c)3 KYSA does not and cannot pay salaries to any of their board members.  All the time and effort put in is done by choice because board members want to give back to the community in some way.  If you are not happy with the way KYSA is doing things, there is something you can do!  Run for election at our AGM on February 28 for any of the open positions we have available.  We are always looking for volunteers and people to help lighten the load for those that are doing something.  Unfortunately I learned quickly when I was a PTA President that many will complain but few will step up to fix it.

In short the message is - make sure you have your facts straight before you go and spew a bunch of non-truths.

Sabi?  Comprende now?  Are you able to assimilate FACT from FICTION?  Not that ANYONE has to answer to you or anyone else as to why KYSA is charging for tryouts.  But don't let the facts get in the way of a good mud slinging, eh?  You're desire to pump up Synergy at the expense of Dos and KYSA is both transparent and pathetic....

I wish you nothing but the best with Synergy92 and their tryouts as I know a few girls that played for that team this year but are looking to move on.  And I'm sure your head coach would like to keep the "goodwill" going between Synergy and KYSA given that he LIVES IN KENT and might need some players from his HOME TOWN fairly soon.
