I think a few teams may be able to score on X-Fire

Eastside has the potential  Reign could  Thunder could but it would be like 5-1  While I do not see them winning I think Vancouver has the best chance of scoring on Crossfire.

Dos over Snohomish 1-0.  Revolution over Eagles 1-0.  Emerald City over Thunderbirds 5-0.  Sounds like there were some good games today!

I think Dragon-Slayer was doing predictions.  Got the score right, it just bounced over to Dos instead.  Congrats to Timbers for holding Crossfire to 2, that be pretty good.

No upset with Eastside (EFC).  They got a lucky break with a bye to the quarter finals, as did FC Independence.  So far Dos, Revolution, Emerald City, Crossfire, FC Independence and either Whatcom or Westsound-whoever won today- is still in the running.

Better check that again - Patriots beat EFC 2-1 in OT...but you're right about it not being that much of an upset. These teams have played each other for 3 years, and Thunderbirds/ Pats have only lost one game to EFC in that time.

Westsound beat Whatcom 1-0. The other team that had a bye to the Quarters if Reign Purple.

Hate ta bug you, but could you U13 CP's take a second to vote on the U11 GG/GB post?

It would mean a lot, and your votes mean SO MUCH, specially since you not U11 parents ;)

Thanks Pops, I just got done checking the website.  I was thinking of the Eastside Bu12 who had a bye.  Too many kids in soccer, my brain hurts trying to keep up.  Good job to the Timbers, nothing like OT for the CP's  .  Looks like Reign plays Revolution, Emerald City plays Westsound, FC Independence play Dos and Crossfire plays Patriots.  Congrats to all the girls and a good job to all!  Recaps for this week? Predictions for next?

I know the feeling...

Should be a great set of quarters - I like Reign, ECFC, FCV - but I won't pick the Crossfire-Pats game. Too close to home!  :D

All of these teams should be very proud to get to this point - way to go girls!!!

Hate to disagree, but have played both teams. That is quite an upset. Congrats to Pats.

EFC IS very strong at U13. They are still the only team in Washington to beat Crossfire. Pats are also a good team, but it is an upset, with Patriots beating Eastside Red. EFC plays a different style than Patriots, a more controlled game which will prove to be beneficial in their later years. Pats play a more direct style and are probably more athletic right now which is beneficial to a younger team.

Good luck to the Patriots and all quarter finalists.

Thanks! Still not sure I agree with your take on the HUGE upset and style of play - I think the line is very blurry at this age after ECFC and Crossfire (and maybe FCV), and Pats have developed a much more controlled game this year than in past years (although that's definitely Eastside's style - contain, possess, and counter), and the size and athleticism has evened out with these teams.

On to the quarters!

Sorry, I retract my "huge upset" comment, but Eastside is still small in comparison with most teams. Who knows, maybe it will even out with a huge batch of puberty (poor parents). But, like I always say, ya gotta win the games, even in the toughest brackets!  Good luck next week.

An upset maybe in the eyes of some in the soccer community, but not in the eyes of the Patriot girls.  They beat this team in Idaho at the US Club Regionals this year and knew they could do it again.  You are right that the Pats play a different style.  Eastside plays "kick to the middle, drop and send to #2", that is their game plan.  Pats play great team ball and utilize everyone on the field to try and win games.

The Pats have only lost 4 league or tournament games since '06 tryouts... 1 @ Rainer Challenge, 1 @ US Club Regionals, 1 @ Sun & Surf in CA, and 1 in State Cup prelim. play.  All to say that this would be a great team for girls in the surrounding area to take a look at come '07 tryouts.   :D
