Snohomish is good just about every year. A very good coach in place, and basically the only show in town for all those players that play P1 in that area.

They have a nice program in place and a good talent pool...in HS that means you will win the majority of your games.

They should have a very good shot at winning state. 8)

High scool is a clown show it has nothing to do with coaching its the luck of the talet pool Heres some simpl fact take snohomishes talent pool split it between two shcools and they never see the final again! 60%of the kids up there are good players from P1 but bragging about a stacked deck is always fun for wannabe parents!Brando kelly is a very good player but his diveing makes me sick diveing is for cheaters and puss@s!! duffer knows all!

My guess he has more soccer knowledge in his clown nose than most of the people on this site and the people running these PDL clubs.

In fact I know he does...... the wealth of knowledge is masked by spelling and other things, but trust me he knows much more than you. I say that because he knows a lot more than I do too.

H S Games
« Reply #12 on: March 16, 2007, 02:13:01 AM »

In all the years of coaching,  H S soccer is very tough to coach if you have a decent team, you have 2,3 games where they need to be at their best, then  they go thru the motions in the other games. And if you go to state you need to be ready for those 1,2 teams that have just as many P-1 players as you. Then your coaching exp comes in but yes if your stacked with P-1 players your a happy coach, but you still need them to play together.
I coached one team in 1990 that was all p-1 players and we went 19-0-3 and won state, and another year were on paper we should have won state easy 1992, but  the players came from a P-1  team that  WON state every year and winning  H S state ment nathing and we lost in Semis,  half the team missed the Metro finals to go to prom, and we lost , so it is not all that easy.

And does it really matter? Do colleges care that you did or didn't win State? And do individual awards mean anything if you are not on a College's radar?Seems to me the network knows who the hot kids are independent of HS, unless you do not play Club .

One of the features of most top programs (such as Snohomish) is the JV team is reasonably competitive with the Varsity.  To keep the monotony of league blowouts most every game from sneaking up on the varsity, they mix it up with their very competitive (and hungry) JVs every so often.

Some of the top HS JV programs would be competitive for early berths in the States, if given the chance.  About the only thing lacking in good JV teams are top finishers -- they play varsity.  As a result, most JV goals tend to be  'team' goals, which is good for future team development overall. Instead of learning to feed the ball to one particular finisher, they learn to work as a team for their scores.  As they mature, these sorts of teams can be very difficult to defend as you can't just focus on defending one or two guys.
