I think the Crossfire coach will be gone to Nike Friendlies in florida. If he's not at the game or coaching, I think it may be tougher to get that win. Just a thought

I've heard from a parent whose son is on the FCU Zamira 14 squad that the game with Xfire has been moved to next week Wednesday (12.07.05) at the Starfire complex at 8pm (though she wasn't exactly sure of the time).  Hope that means the Xfire coach can make it and that FCU will be completely revived from the Noamds weekend.  Should be a heck of a game.

The game of the week is definitely between FCU and Xfire.  Sounds like the first game went back and forth and both missed opportunities that could have given their team the win.

Pretty sure that most of the other games will go as predicted, but always hoping for a surprise or two.  I think that the Heat game may be close with Dynamo, but we will have to see.

Game of the week is certainly Xfire/United. United should have won as the second Xfire goal was an offsides that was not called off.
If the game is next Wed as stated it will give United plenty of time to recharge their engines. If Xfire figures out a way to keep #7 from controlling the midfield and powering up the sidelines to get off his perfect passes, they will win. I watched the Cali teams fail miserably at this however.

Snohomish 1 Storm 0 ???  Good job Storm keepin it close, but the score is a little surprising.  Dynamo 2 Heat 0, no surprise.  EFC 4 Emerald City 1 - big surprise to Emerald City , I am sure :D  :D

Xfire v United - no predictions, could go either way.  Only surprise here is for one to beat the other by more than one goal........

Predictions for Top 6 teams:

1. Xfire (EFC tying United)
2. United - much improved with new team members
3. EFC - team healthy and peaking at right time
4. Snohomish - rough schedule made them look weaker than they are
5. Dynamo - might have finished higher, but injuries happen=humbling experience
6. Emerald City - good team, good players, missing something (?) speed???

Looking forward to State Cup and possibly Snohomish surprising either United or Xfire in one of their last games, if they can pull anything other than a loss, they may end up 3rd.

I personally think Snohomish is the 3rd best team. Just my opinion of course.    I like their defense and the coaches son is one of the best defenders/players in the league. Fast/ Smart/ Tough/ and that wicked flip throw!!!!

I think 4th is a toss up with Dynamo and EFC

1st may very well be United, but they have to knock the champs off their box 1st.

My humble respone - not predictions

1.  United and X-Fire are the class of the group.  State Cup really, IMO, isn't the real test.  The league champ should be the State winner.  (We'll see Wed. night - good luck to both)
2.  Word on the street is EFC is already going after a Storm player.  Like Dynamo injury to critical players caused tough going.
3.  Snohomish now has to play the top two back to back.  If they get 3 points it would be a success.  6 great.
4.  Dynamo, who you love to bash, or is it Eddy 55, has had a very good season given their situation.
5.  ECFC is a team w/o enough quality players.
6.  The suprise of the year was the demise of Federal Way.  Not fun to watch and could not have been fun to experince.  That team, what is left of it, deserved better.

I agree with RedCard and disagree with Squash.  Storm has been picked apart and if someone on EFC is going after a player that would be news to I think everyone at EFC.  Maybe for next year????

Anyways, hate to comment on something I know nothing about and have no facts on.  But I would have to say that as far as being committed to the players we already have our coaches definitely show their class when It comes to developement.  That is not to say that equal playing time for all kids is what happens, but there has been only one league game where only one player did not sub in.  All players get on the field every game, the line up is changed around when they are winning and has had to move kids around due to injuries.

EFC hasn't lost to Snohomish in a very long time - and plays well against the top two teams.  It will be fun to see how it plays out in the next couple of weeks.  Hopefully if they do well, they will get the respect that they deserve.

The true test for EFC is Dynamo.  They have had EFC's number and if EFC is going to be considered one of the top teams they need to beat Dynamo next week - period.

I will be interested to see whether or not Storm stays together.  I am sure that some of their better players will be looking come tryouts as well as some of the Heat players and that many of the B teamers will be moving up into P2.

Nice response Redcard; with the exception of Snoho getting 3 or 6 points from their two final games.   Snohomish won't beat either Crossfire or FC United and that's two big losses.   Snohomish should play defensive soccer and go for a tie,  because that is a win for them.   Surprises do happen, but I don't think Santa's coming early for Snohomish.

The Dynamo are hurting,  the best forward in the State is hobbled,  day to day,  less than 50% if that,  he may have to sit out until State Cup.  He can barely run, let alone plant or cut.  I hope next weeks game is on natural grass, he may be able to go if that is the case, still just a shell of his usual form.     Dynamo lost another excellent player as well for the year,  so that's two players short with two huge games coming up. The team was strife with illness at Nomads and it has spread team wide.   The Flu pandemic has hit the team. The team has shown poorly of late,  this must be a valley for them now.  Can they climb to the mountain top? Dynamo decimated by injuries/illness but so are the other teams perhaps,  but no excuses from the third best team in the state, the games will be played.    State Cup is where the truth will be told.    And as I predicted a month ago,  Dynamo, Crossfire and FC United will be in the semi's.

A much more humble Edmonds now that the injury curse has hit.  What's that saying about glass houses? ;)
Called Soccermama and myself excuse makers when we lamented over our team's misfortune during the first 8 weeks. Injuries cost us at least 2 wins, but them's the breaks.
Anyway, big game this weekend between Dynamo and EFC. I hope Mannix plays. He's a game changer and EFC wants to beat Dynamo when they are healthy. If not, could be a loooooooooooooooooong day for Eddy

Who cares about the fourth team,   could be anybody, but of the aforementioned semi-finalist's two finalists will come from two of the three.......

By the way anybody like the recently discovered revamped version of The Who's classic "Eastside Got Schooled Again"?  Roger Daltrey is a huge Dynamo beautiful game believer I hear. ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)

Poor Edmonds....avoid the Nyquil for your head cold,
its giving you delusions of grandeur and visions of adequacy...

Wait, this just in from ESPN Insider,
 Dynablow ducked EFC @ Nomads
so that EFC couldn't scout their new replacement striker

Word on the street is that the lad from Vancouver Crew was the reason for their winning P3...and they are pi$$ed at Dynablow's recruiting him so late in the season. The family had no comment other than to say that they were big Who fans ;)

The real issue is which team(s) are going to pick up players to compete with the top two?  You can't get anyone for State Cup, so we are talking about next year.
What I do agree with is, that Snohomish and ECF might beat X-Fire or United on a particular day.  That doesn't mean that they are a better team.  I'd give those two team a 1 in 8 chance.  I'd give Dynamo a 1 in 20, ECFC 1 in 25.  Why, becauce of the way they match up and the type of game they are trying to play.  Match ups really tell how one team can exploite another.  If your not big and strong nor have depth, like Dynamo and ECFC, you can get ground down.
Now pretend that EFC wins State Cup.  Is that the "best" team Washington can send on?  Yes they would be "the winners"!

Good luck to all,  at u-15 the real talent should start to consolidate and we should be left with 4 or 5 teams in the seattle area.  Whatcom and Yakima get get much more talent unless it moves into the area.  The Seattle area teams can pick the bones of the defeted and get better.  X-fire and United beat everyone else in this game.  Now who can play catch up the best.

Agree with Redcards comments.  Xfire and United are regional teams, the others are local. With the relegation of Heat and Storm,  several excellent players will become available. Where they decide to play next year will influence the #3-6 teams entry into the elite status enjoyed by Xfire and United.
EFC, Dynamo and Arsenal ,and to a lesser extent ECFC, are all good clubs capable of playing with anyone ,any week. They each need a little tuning and with a key addition can become players. Whoever secures the right personnel will challenge for the top. Otherwise, they will all be playing for midpack.
I doubt that either Sun City or Whatcom will do much unless there are talented players from their areas who will jump ship to help them.
As for State Cup, I am not sure that any of the teams beneath Xfire/United have secured any players to help them. As for EFC, they are happy with their club 's ability to challenge   the current top 3 (#3=Snoho not Dynamo, Edmonds ;) ) and even if not the BEST still have a shot at winning it all, which is really all that matters, isn't it :?:  :!:

Redcard;  insightful comments,  but don't the top four teams in P1 get seeded, therefore are granted the status of #1 seed in State Cup?  I have been told that this was the case.  Therefore finishing in the top four is huge, because as we know if one has an easier bracket (last year EFC and Blasters) then State Cup semi's and finals are distinct possibility.   With injuries, illness and just plain common sense dictates the easier the road, the less wear and tear on the team equals greater chance of success.  You want to finish in the top four.

As far as match ups are concerned granted some teams match up better than others,  the Dynamo have never beaten FC United yet Dynamo play Crossfire tough and have beat them before.  If we "pretend" and say one of the mid pack teams win State Cup, does it mean they are the best in State,   no, they just happened to win it all during tourney time, one bad game and you're out. Personally I think the winner of P1 league should represent WA at regionals,  because everybody has played each other twice and the winner has proven themselves  throughout the year.

Edmonds,When did Dynamo beat Xfire?
And beating Storm and Blasters is what EFC HAD to do to advance to Finals...so sorry that Dynablow couldn't get IT done...if NWN are to be mentioned in the same breath with the Big 2, then maybe a draw at least...losses don't mean much there Eddy ;)

Insert star here.................................next to EFC Red

They are 2005 WA State cup Finalist, which means as of now EFC is 2nd in the State.  And if you want to go by league play, they should end up 3rd (or among the rest of the meaningless midpack).

Any way you slice it, if you are in Division 1 you are a good team and have good players - respect though is something that consistency and top of the leader board brings.

Eddy has a good point about State Cup. What worth is league play if a team like Dynamo could represent WA in Regionals   :?:   At least last year the two best teams made it to Finals ;)

Then I asume we are in agreement, X-fire and United in the finals.  EFC dosen't get the easy draw and Dynamo and Snohomish lose in the semis.

I submit that the winner of league play and the winner of State should play a best 2 of 3 to determine who represents WA in Regionals. And if its the same team, then they are truly the correct team!!
