I've been a little quiet the last fews days due to month end at work but could not let this moment go. We live in University Place and it is snowing hard here. The ground is white and our neighborhood looks beautiful with all the Christmas Lights glistening in the new snow.

I am having trouble getting the kiddos down because they are hoping for no school tomorrow. :? :? :?
As for soccer, my DD and some of her teammates have played not only in snow but ice. We had Dad's trying to get the chunks off the fields a few years ago. We had portable propane heaters and lots of blankets to keep them and the fans warm.
One thing my Dad used on me when I played soccer and I use on my DD when the weather is like that is to rub baby oil on the bare skin that is exposed. It is a natural insulator and it takes the sting off when the ball hits your legs. The ball just slips off.
I have to admit I hope it is gone by Saturday because the River Road Gals play the Crush at 3:30 in Renton and I would hate for weather to interfer with either team's play. This should be a great game regardless. Good luck to all the teams snow or shine but I predict regardless this will be a wet one.    Keep lots of hot cocoa and blankets ready for after the game. The girls will need it and a stop at Starbucks for the parents is my remedy for chilled bones.
Time to get the rest of the house down for the count because tomorrow will be an early morning to see if school is late or cancelled.
To everyone else, be safe and drive carefully if you have to go out.
Soccer Mama
