3-day Cancer Walk
« on: September 06, 2007, 01:08:52 PM »

Hey -- I want to give a big thank you to the participants (Mrs. Yote included) and people who have supported their mission with donations in the 3-day Cancer Walk.  The walk starts this Friday at Bellevue Community College and ends Sunday at Memorial Stadium.  Give them a big thumbs up if you see them in your neighborhood.

Changing lives. The Breast Cancer 3-Day.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight against breast cancer. Participants walk 60 miles in three days, help raise millions of dollars for breast cancer research and patient support programs and are part of something way bigger than themselves.

Along the way, they get all the support they need for training and fundraising. And each night of the event, walkers experience an incredible mobile city that’s more than just sleeping tents and warm showers, where they can eat, relax and renew their spirit with their fellow walkers.

During three awe-inspiring days, participants in Breast Cancer 3-Day events, including breast cancer survivors, will cover 60 miles in this challenging and empowering experience.

Wow--over 3,000 participating.  Starting this morning at 5:30am at Bellevue Community College    Coming to a floating bridge near you--south through Seward park and out to Burien for the first 20 mile day.  Good luck to all--no blisters and a great time.

Looks like nice weather to start out with! Hope it stays relativly nice throughout the walk. No extreme heat, lots of water and goodies and LOTS of $ raised to help get rid of this horrible disease!
Cheer Mrs Yote on for me ok?

She's a little nervous as her legs aren't quite as long as Yotes--double the steps.

3 days, 60 miles, many blisters, $6.4 million dollars raised for breast cancer research.  Great job to all who walked and supported this cause.  Pretty cool closing at Memorial Stadium.
