Good Luck this weekend....
« on: September 09, 2005, 09:17:24 AM »

The 1st weekend of the season is here, best of luck to everyone. Parents make sure you take your chill pill, because getting all worked up can ruin the game for your kids. Enjoy it and have fun.

Maybe we should ban parents from the first game of the season :!:
I am very amused to read the predictions for tomorrow's games.
A. Your probably haven't seen many of the teams you're predicting. B. This is not the World Cup.

Parents, don't yell at (or coach) your child, your child's teammates, the opponent's players or the ref!!!
Your child's coach should provide direction-let them do their job.  You should provide encouragement.

Anyway, I'm probably talking to a brick wall in some cases, but I watched a team this summer at a tournament-several of the Dads had this "Boys Club" thing going on up and down the sidelines.  They were high-fiving and bumping chests.  They were obviously living vicariously though their child.  It would have made a great video clip for "Parents out of Control"!

Best of luck to all the teams and players!  Regardless of the outcome of the game, if you do your best, and have fun, you can walk off the field with your head high.

I agree Striker.
My middle daughter sent me the following quote to put on our team website:

Strength and courage aren't always measured in medals and victories. They are measured in the struggles they overcome. The strongest people aren't always the people who win, but the people who don't give up when they lose!!
