Caesar's week 8 picks in BOLD.
This is the first week that we really see all teams in action for crossover games. Could be lots a blow-outs? :shock:
Caesar predicts that B1 teams pretty much roll this weekend except for two games. Westy-Joss & Glory win their first B2 vs B1 battles. These two games are of interest because they pit the top two teams from B2 aganst the bottom two teams from B1... therefore these games are Caesar's GOTW :mrgreen:

GOTW Commentary:
FCV Glory vs WPFC Black: Glory is hot! Undefeated (7-0) 31 GF and only 3 GA. Defence wins this battle and FCV has one of the best @ GU11. WPFC coming off their first win last week which is great motivation (11 - 1 vs Spokane :shock: ) but WPFC travels into a yellow&black hornets nest and gets stung! .... multiple times.
Westy-Joss vs Harbor Duffey: Harbor get their first win on Saturday and comes to play Sunday. Westy-Joss only has this game and is rested and ready to prove something. A close one ... but Harbor fizzles and Westy sizzles!

I agree with ALL picks. I will add, If Harbor doesn't win their game against the Mauraders I will pull out my last 3 strands

Everything looks good, but I'll throw out two more upsets...Evergreen over ECFC and Dos over Snohomish.

I love your games of the week, I think Glory wins big (should be ranked #1), and Westy beats Harbor. Do you remember all of the heated posts the last time those two faced each other during the Starfire Labor Day Cup Final? Westsound won a very physical game in which some of the parents "lost it." Expect some of the same physical play, but hopefully the parents can behave this time.

The rematch should be even more intense. IMHO and being a total HOMER, Harbor had a very tough Semi-Final match beating Synergy 3-2. Harbor lost one of their super stars in the first half of the final game as well. Should be a great game.

Caesar's GOTW #1:
I've been thinking about that 11-1 win that WPFC Black had last weekend. Glory beat the same team 7-1 I believe.
Should be a knock-down-drag-out battle in the Couve for sure.

Still think Glory has the HP to pull out the win over WPFC. Defence will be the key! Anyone know if they are on turf or grass?

Had a couple PMs about the one and only time these two teams met. Summer tournament in OR (11v11) where the girls in Black got the win by one (2-1)

Harbor, Westy game has all the juice for Sunday. Coaches and players both realize this is a rivalry. Happened all by itself as both teams have played each other hard multiple times.

Harbor wins big with a decisive 7-0 win against the Marauders. Could have been worse. Coach put scorers on defense and let everyone play in different positions. A couple awesome scores off center mids corners, one a perfect header into the back of the net. :lol:

Over 70% or more of the game was dominated by Duffy. Could not finish multiple shot attempts. Westsound scored on a defensive miscue in the first half and in the second half stacked up their defense to maintain their 1-0 lead. Harbor did not react by stacking their offense until it was too late, final whistle! No refs showed up to officiate this game, had to have parents handle duties and the field was in awful condition and lines were not marked well.(paint faded)

No referee showed up for the game. A parent of a Harbor player stepped in to ref. He was fair, he just let the girls play, no fouls were called so it got pretty physical at times. The girls played hard on both sides, no team was playing "dirty."

A Harbor parent seemed to be very upset prior to the start of the game, as she went to the middle of the field with a raised voice saying she "opposes the game, and won't let it be played."

She didn't get her way, the game went on.

The game was played fairly even, unlike the last meeting at the Labor Day Cup when Westsound dominated. Westsound scored about midway through the first half and both teams missed several shots the rest of the way.

Disagree with soccerworld. Agree the field was in horrible condition on one end. I feel Westsound played better and won the game...period. Westsound had many more "missed opportunities" than Harbor. It is also not true that they "stacked" their defense, they played the same all game.

Thats what is great about this world..we can disagree. Try looking at a stat sheet however and check shots on goal. You guys also added a fourth defender in the second half (no.14) who played forward the whole first half. Maybe we were watching different games

"stacked" could just mean coach took one mid and matched up man to man on a stronger harbor player. Looks like you add an extra defender but really you have one player shadowing another instead of playing a zone type defense. "maybe" this is what happened.

You are right, it is nice to be able to disagree. No. 14 was a forward in the first half and swapped positions in the 2nd half, she was not a 4th defender. That is how Josserand usually plays the girls.

Heard from an older parent in the Couv that saw the most of this game, said it could of been easily 5-1 FCV...that is the way the ball bounces sometimes though :oops:

I heard the same thing .... I think the quote was. "The Glory couldn't capitalize on their scoring opportunities" ..... "the shot on goal differential favored the Glory by a wide margin". All may well be true but when the final whistle blew the girls in Balck had 1 in the net and the Glory Girls had none.

I picked 'em to win ..... maybe it was "Caesar's Curse" :oops:
... although, I did pretty good pick'in 'em this weekend
