Ok, I have nothing funny say about cowbell's because I'm stil laughing at Yote's youtube video, and really, how could I beat that?
But if you seriously want some advice about traveling.....have your manager or team mom or whatever you call it put together a packet for your team before you leave, and hand it out at the last practice before you take off. This should include directions from the freeway or airport to the hotel, from the hotel to each field you'll be playing at, and directions back to the airport. It should also include an itinerary for your team to follow including curfew times etc. This should include "free time" and how much pool time the coach allows etc. (I know there's always a lot of debate about that issue) There is nothing more frustrating than getting to a place, not knowing when or where you're supposed to be there etc. Once everyone is there and separated, it is more difficult to round everyone up to disseminate info. The itinerary should also include the uniform kit for each game so that everyone knows what to wear.
Second, If you try to have a "team dinner" you are screwed. We tried this at Slammer's twice last summer, and both times was a fiasco for the staff at the restaurants, and the bill was an absolute mess. I know another team that went ended up accidentally stiffing the restaurant for all the kids meals. If you want to do this, take the time to plan it ahead as a banquet, and get it all figured out financially before you go.
Buying group food for between games is a must. Have every parent chip $5 and send one or two to get it. Too many shoppers make it too hard.
Finally, make sure your manager has all the cards and rosters with them no matter what, at all times, or they could end up having to drive back and forth to the hotel to get it. I won't bother explaining how I know that.
Well, this was long, but actually some of my best advice. Just make sure to include drinking time for the parents on your itinerary somewhere. That is most important.
