Exclude PDL

First off, I agree, the PDL knew what they were getting into when they didn't go to LPTs, so no whining about no seeding.  That being said, I still think that 'reverse seeding' the PDL with the state would give the top state teams a better chance of advancing.  It insures the top PDL teams will be separated from one another, but also that they'll be separated from the top teams.  Practical example from BU14:  P1#1 SCFC has PDL#5 NWN in their group, and could meet PDL #2 Xfire in the qtrs.  Through reverse seeding, they'd have ESA - PDL#8 - in their group and could face PDL#7 Spokane in the qtrs.  If you look at the brackets as currently drawn, I'd say P1#3 and P2#2 Colibri had a much more advantageous draw the P1#1 SCFC and that doesn't seem equitable.

I guess Doug put it out there at the WSYSA Live Draw....."Will PDL teams be seeded?", His answer was very direct and simple, "No."  That's it, no discussion and no excuses.

Dragon reported on this in the news letter and I think that there is a lot more said in this simple, direct answer as far as WSYSA'a approach to the PDL.

o' well.   The stage is set for 2007.    2008 State Cup is a long long ways away.   I just hope the State players kick some PDL buttocks.   It's the American way.

In my opinion there has been too much whining about the way teams have been placed into brackets.  Unfortunately some teams that may have made it farther in previous years will not make it as far this year, but the truth is, if your team really is THE BEST they will beat whatever teams they have to play to take the title anyway.  If your team deserves to be the state champs or even the runner up, they will make it out of their bracket.

I doubt my DD's team will make it as far as they have in the past, but they will just need to play the best that they can and hope to make it out of their bracket.

let me be the first to whine about you saying there's too much whining.

LOL
I'm whining now 'cause I was not the first to whine about the whining!

But this happens quite frequently as most every year the 'best' team at an age group plays up a year. For State Cup they come back to their age group. But, they do not get seeded. Sometimes that really screws it up as they play the top seeds etc.

Too bad so sad
