It's a great read...

“What a lot of people don’t realize is that for our mini program he gave us stuff for free,” says Bywater. “And it wore like iron and we used it for years.”

His charity was felt worldwide. Each year Denzil would donate a container of goods to kids, be they from Seattle, El Salvador or Uganda.

“He was smart, he found a niche that was needed and worked with that niche,” Bywater says. “He was and will be good hearted to the end.”

“The most generous guy I ever came across,” states Ryan.

Denzil was a great council when I went through a "soccer issue" a few years back.  He always treated me with respect and was always asking questions.  From when I was a youth a took the bus to his shop from Renton, to when I was a coach and went to the man for sage advise.  What a wheeler dealer also--always loved getting free wuzzies instead of my second pair of shoes.  The funniest thing that ever happened to me, was when I went to his store to pick up a pair of shoes that he had ordered for me.  The sign was on the door "across the street at Rendevous".  So I walked across the street and asked him how long he would be as I wanted to wait.  Just let me finish my lunch..he said.  So I walked back across the street, but if you remember his shop was mid-block and I crossed there instead of going to the corner.  Of course, Seattle's finest was on the corner and I got hit with a $39 jaywalking ticket.  The cop finished giving me the ticket and leaves.  A few moments later here comes Denzil walking across the street from the Rendevous exactly like I did.  I explain I just got a ticket doing the exact same thing and he laughs and laughs.  He says I would have told the cop to go to hell and opens the store and fetches my shoes.  It was amazing though that I got a discount when he rang up the order for nearly the entire amount of the ticket. ;)   Thanks Denzil for all that you did for us.  You will be remembered.
