Was at the Hazeldell Fred Meyer less than 5min earlier looking for wii for dd's b-day. I was in immediate area at time of incident, approx 78th and HWY 99 damage goes for a couple miles east on 78th to just shy of 205 freeway - It was flippin crazy -
KFC lost some roof, as well as other restaurants, businesses/houses. giant signs bent over or gone as if a toothpicks all these are on 78th street-
Tell you it was crazy...............
Other damage west as well, but didnt have to drive thru it. Hail the size of marbles -
absolutely nuts................ News crews everywhere..........
it was crazy, it would touch down and then skip a couple miles, then touch down again. One of our parents had the tornado touch in his backyard. It opened both doors of his horsebarn and scoured it out right down to the dirt. Stall mats, dog kennels, his ATV, horse feed, bales of straw and hay, all the bedding-GONE !! His 20 large trees on his property are now down to 3. All the outdoor furniture in his backyard is scattered all over the 8 acres, in pieces. The trampoline ended up in a neighbors tree. He lives west of Hazel Dell about 15 miles.
WOW...glad everyone is okay...are his horses alright?
the horses finally touched down in Venersborg, but they were fine eating farmer John's front lawn, hahaha.
But yes, the horses happened to be in another part of the pasture and were unfazed by the whole thing.
His brand new lawn furniture, trampoline, barbeque and shed however didn't fare quite as well. The dog was in the kennel in the barn, the kennel got stuck to the ATV which prevented the kennel from flying out into the back 40. The ATV did move about 20 feet down the shed row in the barn with the kennel attached to it but didn't take flight, luckily for the dog. I'd bet the dog is a little leery about going back into the kennel from now on.
