Just a side note to the state...
the fields in Yak were horrible...at this time of year games should not be allowed to be played over there :?
OMG!!!
The fields were hard but no snow or ice!! They were much better than the rainy wet fields we have played on the Westside.
Face it, Chika's are embarassed because they came to Yakima thinking they were going to win. Give the Suncity girls some credit for playing a good game. This is a typical response to an eastern or central washington team winning to a big club team.
Well, seeing as we just got home, and we were all on the bus together, I can assure you that no Chika parent posted anything about the fields sucking in Yakima. But now that I'm home I might as well restate the obvious. That field absolutely sucked. Actually Crossfire played on the "good" field, and it sucked.
And no, the Chikas aren't embarrased because we lost. We actually feel pretty good about the whole experience. Our communication was as good as it's been all year. Several players showed the most heart and grit I've seen all year. Possession was probably 80-20 Chikas. Shots probably 15-5. Bus ride was a great time. You would be surprised how unembarrased we are.
And yes, I do give the Sun City girls credit. They scored more goals under the conditions. I think both teams would agree however that the game wasn't soccer as it was meant to be played.
I'm fairly sure that if Pres Doug was in attendace, he would make sure that something like this didn't happen again. This is his State Cup, and frankly, it was an embarrasment to the sport.
