Tri Mountain Avalanche 94- 1
vs
Marauders 94 White - 0

Tri Mountain Avalanche 94 girls moving on to the quarters after playing on a very cold day in the Couv.

Anyone know who won GU13 game GU13 Elimination round 5 - D1 vs C2, Blue Cats or Skagit Storm?

WTG to all the teams!

OMG!!!

The fields were hard but no snow or ice!!  They were much better than the rainy wet fields we have played on the Westside.

Face it, Chika's are embarassed because they came to Yakima thinking they were going to win.  Give the Suncity girls some credit for playing a good game.  This is a typical response to an eastern or central washington team winning to a big club team.

DOn't blame the Chika's parents for something they didn't do ;)

No one said the teams were bad over in CW anyway, just that the fields sucked!!!

Can't speak for centralwashington, but there are a number of very dedicated people in my central Washington community who worked their a** off to remove all of the snow off the field to give kids the best playing surface possible.  So, to answer your question, "yes" a bunch of people are groundskeepers.  Also, I am tired of the "fields sucked" complaint.  Last I checked, both teams played on the same surface.

The good news is that WSYSA finally moved the cup so that field conditions should not be an issue.

True that!  That is all that matters in the long run

just so peep's believe me though, here is the quote:

Quote from: "Crossfire Parent"
The fields in Yak were frozen earth.  They put down fertilizer on the ice patches.  One of the AR's even said the field was dangerous.   No one was injured but you could see the girls slipping everywhere.  The Sun City Goalie would have liked better footing.  She got crossed up on one goal and almost did not stop a dribbler.  Not the prettiest soccer given the field.  Nothing against EW just do not want to play on frozen pond like conditions ;)

Tri-Mountain Avalanche93 Wins
« Reply #80 on: January 20, 2008, 12:59:34 AM »

Tri-Mountain Avalanche93   3     Orchards Heartbreakers   0

Avalanche dominates the Heartbreakers, even though both teams played with pride, heart and fire.  Goals scored by Nicole #33, Korina #4, and Melanie #21.  Game was 2-0 at half.  Avs had about a half dozen good scoring opps in the second half but only found the back of the net once.

Avalanche moves on to Quarterfinals against the defending State Champ CW Strikers (who beat Stealth 07 1-0).  Should be a tough, intense game!  Game will be played in the Couve, so will post field location and time later this week once confirmed.

Cowtown teams continue to do well...too bad we have to play each other so soon in the tournament!

total domination by the Tri-Mtn girls. Good passing, excellent space and a smothering defense kept the HB'ers on their heels the entire game. Game score could easily have been 6-0.

Congrats to Tri-Mtn for a disciplined, deep field of players and good coaching.

what was home teams' record and vistor teams' record after playing today's game. I know for one team imo playing away hurt them- and that was chikas
and maybe even cw magic
and harbor???

And Crazy posters does home field make a big difference???
Maybe @ U-11 but not @ u-13????

Well, seeing as we just got home, and we were all on the bus together, I can assure you that no Chika parent posted anything about the fields sucking in Yakima.  But now that I'm home I might as well restate the obvious.  That field absolutely sucked.  Actually Crossfire played on the "good" field, and it sucked.
And no, the Chikas aren't embarrased because we lost.  We actually feel pretty good about the whole experience.  Our communication was as good as it's been all year.  Several players showed the most heart and grit I've seen all year.  Possession was probably 80-20 Chikas.  Shots probably 15-5.  Bus ride was a great time.  You would be surprised how unembarrased we are.
And yes, I do give the Sun City girls credit.  They scored more goals under the conditions.  I think both teams would agree however that the game wasn't soccer as it was meant to be played.
I'm fairly sure that if Pres Doug was in attendace, he would make sure that something like this didn't happen again.  This is his State Cup, and frankly, it was an embarrasment to the sport.

When I expressed my opinion about the Chikas I was thinking about them having too take a bus which is great -however -they did not get to see/practice on the field till right before the game possibly???
Evergreen went to Tri-cities the day before.  So maybe leaving a day before  should be mandatory for away teams???
BC, would it have made a difference leaving a day early ???

No, apparently yesterday the field was under 4" of snow.  The opposing coach was lining the field and putting up nets when we arrived 2 hours before kickoff.  Kudos to him, of course.  He actually apologized to me after the game for the field condition, which was appreciated, but obviously the problems lie farther up the ladder.  I'm telling you it was an absolute joke....A bad one at that.

Tri-Cities fields were fair.  Didn't seem to be any different than when we were there in the fall.

Don't be so quick to point fingers, last year I remember at state cup, that teams played here at Kasch park with 2-3 inches of snow on the field. So it's not just EW that has those problems.

MA texted me........ playing at 9 AM

Goooooo WPFC Black!

10 am Tri-Cities update.  Sunny, cool and a great day for soccer.
Time for a "lets get ready to rumble" statement to the DD and then off to the fields we go.

It's a great Washington Preimier kindof day!!!  Go white and black

White WINS 4-1 over 3 Rivers Flame

Great game for the River Road gals.  Both teams got after it from the start.  Very spirited with neither team getting an advantage.  First WP goal came off a corner with a 3 Rivers player knocking it in.  Couple minutes later second WP goal scored off a great penalty kick.  Ball sent high into top left corner.  Keeper had no chance.  Third goal coming just before half on a cross into the middle and a wide open chip in from about 3 yards out.  3-0 at the half.
Second half had 3 Rivers coming out on fire and taking charge.  They score several minutes into the half to make it 3-1.  3 Rivers keeps up the intensity making us WP CP's a little uneasy.  The RR gals finally get a handle on the Flame and press into their half of the pitch and keep it there.  Final score comes off another corner to make it 4-1 and put the final nail in the Flame coffin.

Don't be so quick to point fingers, last year I remember at state cup, that teams played here at Kasch park with 2-3 inches of snow on the field. So it's not just EW that has those problems.

had teams 2 different years at Kasch park on frozen, ice/snow  covered fields. Played Spokane last year also, at least they removed the snow, the round was hard of course. But you could see it.
