Fair rating of the stadium considering the awesome atmosphere the SFC fans bring! They've done an awesome job. Except that nightmare kit this year! :)

When Mauro Rosales wears it, all I see are wonderful crosses and Sounders goals.   :drinks:

Sounder related - Former Sounder, Le Toux, has signed with Whitecaps. Appears begrudgingly. I am both pleased and bothered by the signing!

What the bleep is the back story on this?   Last I heard of Le Toux, he was on trial in Europe and under contract with Philly.   Wasn't he the top forward for the Union these last two seasons?

A little digging.   Apparently Bolton sort of wanted him, and were willing to pay a million bucks for him, but the arrangements were not undertaken in time.  And Bolton were a little iffy on Le Toux's personality or agent.   It would have been nice to see one of the old A-league Sounders make it to the Premier League.

So at the last minute, Philly is told they are getting him back.  But they were expecting to lose him.  He was not in their plans.  So they flogged him for cash to Vancouver.    Maybe Le Toux was missing the Pacific Northwest?   Seems like Montreal would have been a more suitable place for him, he being a Froggy and all.

I predict that Philladelphia will rue the day they did this deal.

“The only thing they wanted is the money,” Le Toux said. “Being with this team and being a guy, not to build around, but to help this team, was what I wanted. … They must have wanted to sell me for money because they needed money. We don’t have a nice practice facility and that is something they promised since I am here. It’s terrible.
“That’s why they pushed me to Bolton — money.”

“I asked Peter (Monday at YSC) what was going on and he didn’t let me talk,” Le Toux said. “He started to get mad at me, telling me that I was very not respectful to leave Bolton early. I told him, ‘First, I respect myself.’ But I always did everything they asked me to do. I came from vacation in the Dominican Republic for the Bimbo (sponsorship) announcement. I always was respectful. … It was like he was saying, ‘I don’t know if I can trust you on this team.’
“I couldn’t even memorize everything he said because I was so surprised to hear it.”

Whitecaps have so many forwards that this is somewhat concerning. Then again, if the dude continues to perform he's an automatic starter and upgrade over Atiba Harris in an AM/FW role...

Would you be willing to trade LeToux to the Sounders for a midfielder?   We have a mid that is so highly thought of he played in both the last two USMNT matches.
LeToux for Brad Evans!!!!

Come on, you took a former USMNT member as your top player when you started in DeMerit, now you get one entering the prime of his career!   Don't tell me you would rather keep a snail eater who came up from the A-league?

If you can swing the Seba for Evans deal I will throw in escargot for life, as well as a really nice bottle of chablis.  Hell, I'll throw in a case of grande cru classe if you were to really pull this off.

Love that you guys drafted a Canadian. Hope he makes the squad and contributes (haha, thinking selfishly as a CMNT fan of course!). Surprised he was missed by the TFC Academy to be honest.  Unless he's a late-developer I suppose.

Sigi's quotes:

http://goalwa.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/sounders-counting-down-to-santos-laguna-champions-league-match/

(On the race to be the number two keeper…) “It’s a battle. Obviously, Josh Ford is injured right now and that’s unfortunate for Josh because I thought he did well for us last year. Bryan Meredith and Andrew Weber have performed very well, so we’re going to make some decisions here soon. It’s a very competitive situation.”
