Massive Win tonight by the Sounders. Well done to the entire team. This is the type of win that can cause a crisis in confidence in the LA Fantasy when they meet us again. And it sets up nicely for a run to the play offs.

The Sounders looked great, especially the back line and team defense. They really got in the way of a lot of LA shots before they could even get to Gspurning.

On the other end Eddie Johnson is red-hot and those others goals were rather pretty too, weren't they...

It's a good thing they did. My biggest area of concern for the Sounders is goalie. Gspurning doesn't command the box, got lucky on 1 shot that went right through his hands but was wide of the goal, resorted to punching the ball out 3-4 times when most keepers would have easily caught the ball and in general looked about as shaky as you can be between the pipes.

I can't wait to see this team at full speed with Eddie, Fredy, Rosales, Tiffert and Zakuani (hopefully) creating up front with Alonzo breaking up any counter attacks. I feel for Brad Evans, who is going to see a lot less playing time.

While I wince at the superficial similarities, and was well aware of the potential percieved congruencies, I felt that the Canadians did play a great game by their standards, while the Sounders did not. No replay showed that Ianni committed a hand ball (at least that I have seen) and on a Sounders miss in the PK shootout, the cheating SOB of a KC goalie was off his line but not called. And, under the modern rules, the KC goalies antics were worthy of an unsportsmanlike yellow card.
And the ref blew many calls during the match, might as well been wearing a KC jersey.........

I'm going to sound like a KC supporter, which I am not, but Seattle lost that game. Not just in the score, but it looked like a gift to KC and not from Salazar.

While Salazar is not my favorite referee, he is the one we had to have and it's often said that the referee is part of the game whether we like it or not. Take the referee 'out of the game' by scoring goals and their calls aren't worth much. Seattle failed to do that.

Seattle passing was horrid! I've seen little kids with crisper passing!
Seattle also needs to get rid of the idea that 'I was fouled so it must be called' bandwagon. Quit being a baby and play!

Yes, there are times when it should be called ( like when Salazar didn't call the foul on Rosales when he was strong armed off the ball, yet called it when it was a minor body check )
We all know that Seattle plays a good game but last night they failed to show up for it. As for the KFTM's? no comment. UGH! Just UGH!

In spring 2008, the club announced a web-based vote on the name of team, and that “Sounders” would not be among the choices. But, when the actual vote took place, there was a chance for fans to write in a vote. Most people wrote in “Sounders” or something close, and the rest is history.

But, why does it seem strange to me that an ownership group that seems to have done practically everything else right, might have gotten something so basic so so so wrong? I mean, Seattle Republic? Really?
