3 points I would like to make, SOCCER/POLITICS/& COMICS
« on: February 05, 2008, 12:43:27 AM »

First off, I am in no way "mad or upset" at anyone...I love that you have your own opinions on things I should or should not post...for that I love you all...But here are 3 points and some thoughts that have crossed my mind in the last day or so....

POINT #1

Why is it I can do ALL of the following and not get bashed???

* Praise kids for their parents like they are the next Ronaldo or Mia

* Praise teams that I would NEVER allow my DD to play for like they are the cat's meow

*  Praise clubs like they are the second coming of Manchester United, even though I would rather pull my kid from soccer then ever let her play for that club

*  Posts almost 16,000 posts and devote a large part of my life to trying to make parents/kids happy when I should be praising my own family for allowing me to do this

But

POINT #2

If I do the following, people jump down my thoat...

*  I can't post my feelings on who I would vote for!  Yeesshhhh  Most people keep secret who they will vote for like it is some kind of deep dark secret!  Are they ashamed of who they would vote for?  People always say; "I know its none of my business, but who are you gonna vote for"?  Why is it no one's business?  If the person is proud of who they will vote for, they should gladly tell you.

*  BTW, if you don't know by now It's OBAMA BABY!!!!

*  Lastly, I am writing this Monday night with NO IDEA of the outcomes on "super Tuesday", but regardless if my canidate does good or bad on Tuesday, I will still vote for him!

lastly

POINT #3

I miss comic books.  Used to love them as a kid and would like to share with you some of my Favorite covers of Comics I used to have:

FANTASTIC FOUR #26

THE HULK #250

SPIDER MAN #1

AVENGERS #116

Now, none of this has anything to do with soccer either...but I like them...and like so many other things in my life over the last few years....I thought I would share them with you ;)

I was a huge comic reader as a kid.  Here was my favorite! (plus it lets me get my Ron Paul avatar out there)

D...I love knowing how you feel...most of us on here consider you our friend whether we know your identity or not...knowing about your politics and your love of comic books (often the same thing!)...is fine, too.  My opinion is this is a soccer forum...not the Democratic or Republican convention...keep the politics to the politics section, and I have no problem with it...posting under general soccer talk or Crazy Parents is inappropriate...BO or John McCain have NOTHING to do with soccer in the State of Washington...we have a pretty good President in charge of WSYSA!!

Think you missed the point...

you were supposed to post a pix of your favorite comic book, the rest was just smoke and mirrors

Jk ;)

Respect your opinion, at least you voice your opinion in a civil way, not like an ASS like some people

You know, after serving my country for 22 years, I have always voted as a republican.  Most often the republican party candidates looked out for the military and our families, ensuring that we had decent pay raises, cost of living adjustments and the like.  For the first time in my voting life (I joined at 17) I find myself able to look at all of the candidates in a different light and I must say that I have fast become an Obama follower.  I really enjoy the newness of him and think that he might be the right guy for the job.  I have reviewed many of the candidates positions and watched most of the debates and I still find myself leaning in his direction.  :)

Well, I would strong disagree with Point #1...just take a look at the recaps thread from the U11 championship weekend...I found it very interesting that some people on here feel tossing some praise to kids and teams for doing well has no place on this site, and then even go as far as suggesting a person that does must have some sort of hidden agenda.

Regarding Point #2....I don't want a left wing liberal running this country - especially if it's in a dress.  For me, the choice are all flawed in some way, but if I had to choose, right now my choice would be:

If you have something to say do it...otherwise this old dead horse you continue to beat is still BS.  Kudos for sticking with a campaign that lacked foundation and content to begin with…and your attempt at spin control…brilliant

Ok, since this thread is totally off the wall   I want to say that I started watching Obama 2 YEARS AGO after a deal I saw about him on 60 minutes, and I think if we vote for Hillary we're really just putting Bill back in office!!! ;)  GO OBAMA!!!  of course my husband calls me a liberal puke!

That being said, I love you Dragon, so keep it up.   I never read comics   so I can't put one on here.  But I was the master of Barbie world, and when we start talking about her, I'll tell you all sorts of interesting factoids and post a pic of my old Barbie townhouse, which was a rockin place to hang out.
