The Sounders released their pre-season schedule today:

They kick off March 22 at Starfire against Vancouver Whitecaps at 7 PM. I was told there will be a season ticket holders "Meet and Greet" before the match.

The Sounders want to win. Period. However it will be much harder to do so in the USL-1 in 2008. Seattle's schedule is back-loaded with 7 home matches to end the campaign. Before that it is 15 out of 23 on the road. This for a defending champ that is also being 'promoted' to MLS in 2009. The rest of the league will see a Seattle match as their biggest of the season. Not just Portland. Not just Vancouver. Seattle will find every team is up for them. Gone are the patsies in California. This year the league is better, tighter. So far the Sounders have 'stood still' without adding any proven talent to keep pace.

(Seattle, WA) - In advance of the 2008 home opener taking place Saturday, May 10 at Qwest Field, Sounders players and coaches will be seen and heard through local media outlets.

The reigning 2007 USL First Division MVP, and recently announced signee of Sounders FC, Sebastien Le Toux will appear Thursday, May 8 on KING 5 / KONG with Paul Silvi - segments are scheduled to air during Sports Tonight.

Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer can heard on Friday, May 9, on KJR-AM at 3:35 PM. Schmetzer is scheduled to appear on the program, "Groz with Gas" and is set to discuss the upcoming season, the home opener against the Portland Timbers, Sebastien Le Toux, and his take on possibly becoming the coach of Sounders FC.

The Sounders (1-1-1) face the Timbers (3-0-0 with a game on 5/8 against Rochester) at 7:00 PM on Saturday. Prior to the game, there will be a 2007 Championship Banner Unveiling.

It's possible that today's match could be the only contest at Qwest for the USL Sounders in 2008.

Sounders forward Roger Levesque said it felt weird to come to Qwest for Wednesday's media day and practice, knowing the team will play at Starfire.

"To practice at Qwest for media day, it brought back memories," said Levesque, the sixth-year Sounder who is questionable with a sprained ankle suffered in the second match of the season. "It [Qwest] has been a great venue for us. But we're comfortable training at Starfire after the years of doing that.

"We've had a handful of games there [at Starfire], and they've gone well there, including winning the championship there last year."
