Thanks, I realize that there is  a link for tryouts, but it seems there are very few that have announced tryout for 13's, 14's, 15's etc.  That was my question, outside of Pacific Premier.

SInce I don't know where you live or what age group to look at, I gave the simplest answer that I could.
The 15's I don't think will be trying out for a few months yet. Didn't their league just start like the 16's and above?

I liked to believe that clubs charged money to make the cp's think twice about going to so many try outs or just going to check out the competition; but seriously when a club charges 5 or 10 bucks it has to be about the money.   :?

Come on now. All that $ goes to the volunteer parents "running" the show dolling out pinnies, registration, direction. My wife gets  paid so well that we eat at Canlis after tryouts on the Clubs dime!

Actually the coaches get it for beer $$ after tryouts so they can drown their sorrows for losing all their best players to XF! :P

Where are all these tryouts announced? What age group?

Dosveedanya and FC Kent have posted their tryout schedule for the GU13, 14, and 15s at www.dosveedanya.com or www.kysa.com.

From what I've been told PDL clubs have agreed that beginning with the U13 age and older, there will be no open workouts.  Teams are only allowed to practice with their current rostered team until the date set for tryouts.  This is to avoid recruiting and teams picking their players early.

According to the letter published by WYS the first day of tryouts can be March 14, 2008 for GU13-15 and BU13-19.

Gee, another club with GU13 tryouts on March 15th and 16th, as well as 2 additional days following the weekend.  Does a club really need 4 tryout days to determine who they want?  Seems to me from the past 2 years they pretty much have it sorted out about midway through the 2nd session if not earlier.  Is the 4 days there to allow the Johnny Come Lately to show for the last 2 days after learning they didn't make it on their 1st choice team the weekend prior?

Well, I'm not going to list clubs by name, but I tell you one thing - all but one club that I've looked at has some sort of overlap into the weekend of March 15th and 16th.  Some have not given out times yet, but they are stating they will take place that weekend.

Yes, I think GRFC deserves a blue ribbon for being the first I've seen to post both dates and times of the GU13 and above tryouts, and they did it a while back.  Since they are not PDL, they are also having advertised kickarounds - 3 cheers for GRFC!!!!

Don’t know :?:   Maybe has somethin’ to do with the dumb no kick around rule :?:
But the last 2yrs (for U11&U12)  the 4 days worked like this:
1st Day Tryout – for DDs trying out for both FC Kent & Dos
2nd Day Dos only, by invitation from 1st day and Johnny Come Lately’s
3rd Day – back to both FC Kent & Dos, and Johnny Come Lately’s
4th Day - Dos only, by invitation, and Johnny Come Lately’s

However this year, haven’t heard whether it will work that way or not?
