Wenatchee Fire to "Pro" PASL

Wenatchee Fire announce they'll be the first tenant in new events center, and yes, they are joining the pro division of the PASL:

“This is a great opportunity to give kids the opportunity to see top-level soccer being played locally,” said Osborn. “With the levels of youth and club soccer, semi-pro and then pro soccer, it helps show them that their dreams can come true.”
Osborne said that fans will get a two-for-one ticket every time they go to a game because the semi-pro team will take the field for a game before the professional team plays its game.

He added that no players have been added to the pro team’s roster yet, but that he expects most all of the players to come from the North Central Washington region with a few players from outside of the area added to the roster.

The arena has long been touted as a home for an amateur hockey franchise. Lease negotiations between a local ownership group that wants to bring a franchise to town and Global Entertainment, the company that operates the arena, have been stalled for several months.

New today:

"We fully anticipate the team will be comprised of mostly local and regional players, and when I say regional, I mean North Central Washington," he said. "We also have identified several players outside of our area that have a lot of experience and would be key components to having a successful franchise."
Osborn said the team will hold open tryouts in addition to inviting specific players to camp, but no dates for the tryouts have been set.
"We really do want to give anyone and everyone a chance to compete for their local club."
Beginning next fall, the newly-formed Professional Arena Soccer League will count the Wenatchee Fire among its charter members.
Players on the existing Wenatchee Fire club, coached by Mike Thompson, will be invited to try out for the professional team.
The Fire will play 12 home games (24 total) at the 4,300-seat Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center, which is scheduled to open in October. The Fire will be the Events Center's primary tenant.
