I know for our club, we are very concerned about the increase of player fees and I know our BOD worked very hard at keeping it as economical as possible. We understand our demographics and realize that we must remain competitive in all avenues, including our player fees. Our breakdown is as follows:

New Player fee for U10 is $525

New Player fee for U11 is $755
Returning Player fee for U11 is $455

New Player fee for U12-U18 is $925
Returning Player fee for U12-U18 is $600

This INCLUDES:
adidas Uniforms, warm-ups, bag, socks (new player fee)
Practice fields and lighted fields in the fall
Game fields - Turf
Three tournaments
Team Training
LPT Fees (if applicable)
WYS Fees
League Fees
all other fees...
$500 per team account for equipment

There could be a per team fee, usually around $100-$150, and we do allow our coaches to charge a training fee (some do and some do not), but not more than $50 a month.

We have only one fund raiser a year and it is a auction that has had great success. The proceeds from this will always go back reducing the player fee, hence the $600 returning player fee this year.

Wow, this thread reveals a lot of pain!  Keeping track of each persons earnings and then offsetting fees and dues seems like the only modern way to run things.  And forget the cookie dough.  I recomend an online fundraiser with magazines and donations.  Your supporters can use their credit card in the comfort of their homes to participate in the fundraiser, so you don't need to feel like you are annoying your friends and family.

Our club doesn't have a mandatory fund raiser, only the option to buy team gear (which we do cause we like the stuff) and volunteering 2 hours during the tourney we host (I enjoy being field marshal so I volunteer for 2 shifts). 

Last year our team did a garage sale and earned nice bit of change which was spread out evenly for each member of the team, the money was used only for the team equipment and extra tourneys and there was even money left over which was transfered for each player to this year's account. 

But this year we have been having a difficult time getting the parents to commit to any fund raiser for the team so we may give up and the end result will either be fewer tourneys or more money out of the parent's pockets; only have themselves to blame.
