same post I head from the other thread but cannot resist
Just got through reading the 19 pages of Duffers comments from last summer. If half the things I read are true then there are crazy people in soccer to the extent that makes little league baseball look like a knitting club. I don't blame the board, the coaches, the directors, the various governing bodies, or even the players. I blame the parents if any of what I read is true. Profanity, physical threats, recruiting, etc at youth soccer. Are you kidding me? What amazes me if that is really happening and the parents are aware of it then you get what you deserve and I have no sympathy at all for your or your child. Parents who condone it then must not be surprised if it happens to their child. Parents still control any club whether they choose to exercise that control or not whether it be being on boards or by their pocketbook. No championship is worth what I was reading on there. The excuse making for the threat to a senior citizen made me spill my coffee. For any human being to threaten an 80 year old man in front of children you not only should not be a coach, you should not be a parent, board member, or human being for that matter. Who does that? Using profanity in youth sports only means you are an out of control idiot that needs to have counseling not be in charge of anything. The recruiting, financial stuff, and other less crazy stuff may not be right but can be found many places. Having played and coached high school football I have seen some intense coaches and it is a very emotional and violent sport. This soccer stuff puts it too shame, at least off the field.
In the interest of fairness if all of what I read is untrue then I take back everything I have just posted. I have no idea of what is or is not true and I have no ax to grind against any club or organization. Some of the description of what occurred if true, makes me wonder if the inmates are running the asylum.
