It's basically that time of year again...

Scores / Schedules / and so forth can be found here

http://www.maxpreps.com/state/soccer/washington.htm

accounts are free there and will open up seeing a bit more when you click on scores of games

Also GoalWA.net posts HS stuff......thanks Sounderfan

The Seattle Times used to be decent but they basically suck now for everything

Rainier Beach beats traditional power Garfield 2-1 and last week ties Lakeside 5-5 (when was the last time Lakeside had 5 goals scored against them?). This from a school with, what, 500 students?

Franklin's having a good season, too.  The beat Hale and tied Garfield and Blanchet.  Last year Chief Sealth eliminated Ballard, regular season champs, in the first round of Metro playoffs and lost a close game to eventual State champ Interlake.  The reopening next year of Lincoln High will dilute Roosevelt and Ballard's base.

Is the future of Seattle soccer south of the Ship Canal? That's certainly where the kids are [Council Districts 1 (West Seattle) & 2 (South Seattle) are the only Districts in Seattle with a higher percentage of kids under 18 than the average for the City.]

Lewis & Clark (Spokane) lost 2-1 to Central Valley recently, but a 2-1 win over Gonzaga Prep is enough to keep them atop the 4A Scoreczar Rankings.

I'm really interested to see how Snohomish does - I didn't know they'd moved to 3A. You'd think, after all of the success they've had at 4A that they'll find this easy.

Todd Beamer is killing it in 4A! Guess having a couple of DA players pays off! I would like to see them against Wenatchee for the Semi. Scores haven't all been posted yet.

I just left a 3A Quarterfinal and our team lost to the better team. It was a very physical game and our team played till the bitter end.  I will not be surprised at all if our opponent wins the whole thing.  They were a good team.  The fans are what I am struggling with. I'm sitting here still in shock over how obnoxious and vulgur their studet section was. They picked a couple of names off of our roster and just screamed at those players for most of the game.  For the life of me, I don't understand when it became ok for our youth....boys and girls (mostly the girls tonight) screach out "go F** yourself"  or "shove it up your A**. Then there was the kid who somehow snuck in to the announcers booth and took over the microphone.  The school had FOUR administrators at the game. I can't imagine how out of control it would have been had there not been any.  Admittedly, we are from a smaller community West of the Sound and our kids arent angels but I can honestly say I have never seen it this bad.  Is this how most Seatte schools act?  Why is this ok?

If the player's first name was Donald or last name was Trump I would say the behavior would be expected from Seattle residents.  :)
